:::OFFICIAL SNEAKER CARE/MAINTENANCE POST::: (It's back!)

Sorry but another question... is there a limit sea glow can un-yellow soles? Im quite sure there is, i got a DS of concords and there is barely a little/to noyellowing...... would i be able to get them totally clear if i use it now?... or is there no point in using it?

Question, is it okay to use rubbing alcohol on clear soles like the VI's/XI's to clean them? I could finish cleaning them with water but it would takea lot longer, just want to make sure that rubbing alcohol couldn't damage them in any way.

barkeeper's friend is probably cheapest at wal-mart or target, around $2-$3.
rubbing alcohol on cleaning clear soles on vi's and xi's- i don't know if this will hurt it or not. i just clean the clear parts of these shoeswith shoe cleaner and then use sea glow.
sea glow on back tab of iii's and toebox of vii's- NO! you're just gonna ruin these areas if you use it. for the back tab of iii's, i use mrclean magic eraser. for the vii's, depends on how bad the toebox looks. just light sanding to take away the yellowing.
ds xi's and using seaglow- go ahead and clean them up with seaglow. it shouldn't hurt them since the yellowing shouldn't be too deep.

I was wanting to get the soles completely cleaned up before I thought about using Sea-Glow to get clear.

^suede/nubuck eraser. be easy and don't rub too hard or you're gonna tear up the material.

Is there anything you can put on the mesh (maybe even the sole) of the XI's to prevent them from yellowing??... Would waterpoofer work?..(its a long shot iknow)

how long does it take before i see results on my XII's
i used bar keepers on the white insides
andput them out in the sun

best way to use barkeepers i found was to use a rag and get it wet. add some bkf to it to make a paste and rub it in the mesh tongue and lace holders on thexi's. after getting them to desired white shade, use another wet rag or towel to clean off the residue so it won't get all "crunchy" if youlet it dry up.
- don't know if you could "scotchguard" the soles or tongue to prevent it from yellowing in the future. i just think it's inevitable justbecause of the oxidation effect gonna take place over time. so barkeepers and seaglow is always good to keep handy for prevention.
^barkeepers is used for whitening mesh areas. doesn't need to be left outside. you might be confusing bkf with seaglow, which you do leave outside afterapplication.

^^i use an extra wet towel or rag to clean off the excess amount. the mesh ends up being a little wet but dries out in about an hour or two. i don't rinsethem off since i don't want excess water on other areas of the xi's.
^are we talking about the soles? if so, just use some shoe cleaner with a brush applicator to remove any dirt or grim on them. sea glow them afterwards. shouldkeep them clean and clear so they don't look like crap later.

thanks pimpjobu, ya the bkf made the mesh look like brand new you deff cant rise it off right away let it soak in deff works great and its real cheap

PART OF MY SOLE IS COMING OFF ON MY OG WHITE / RED XII'S ANY HELP ?????????????????

pics coming SOON

yeah , i would like to see some pics rico . i hope that doesnt happen to mine when i wear them .

So I have the red italian suede 21's I made the mistake of wearin them with brand new dark blue jeans, the jeans bled all over the top of the shoes. Cansomeone please pm me if they know how I can get that cleaned. would the dry cleaners be able to do it?

wish i had some pics to see how bad the separation is on your white/red xii's. but since its just starting to come undone, time to get some epoxy glue orshoe goo. this should work for your problem. don't use gorilla glue because i think it's the wrong kind of adhesive for this.
-don't think the dry cleaners is going to help you out with that problem of the bleeding. i would say try the suede/nubuck eraser to maybe lighten the areathat had bled. then maybe use suede/nubuck spray cleaner after that. hopefully the area will be cleaned up enough so it's not so obvious.

HERE ARE THE PICS ...... sorry for going overboard with the pictures .

OK here is the info .... so its ONLY the LEFT foot . The WHOLE SOLE has NOT YET separated , just parts of it . The parts of the sole that have separated areTHE INSIDE ARCH AND WHERE THE PINKY TOE IS ON THE OUTTER SIDE PART.
