A win in Seattle changes the entire trajectory. It low key is starting to feel like 10-7 will win the NFC west the way the division is starting to shape up.

Its the red zone efficiency that's killing our offense. We can seem to move the ball down the field but fluster inside the 20
it's getting pretty predictable for any defense; mason just doesn't have the intimidating presence as CMC while all receivers don't have enough room and get clamped (besides that one kittle TD). They have a better chance scoring being 30 yrds out. Now with moody out, they're forced to get even closer for wish to make the FG.

This team and shanahan can’t close out games. Pretty sure they’ve spent a majority of the 5 games in the lead and then blew it down the stretch

As a cal/49er fan, this has been one of the most frustrating sports weekends in a long time. I strongly dislike football rn
For both teams to be up comfortably and to lose was devastating.

Krueger and Cohn pulled up some numbers today and Shanahan far and away has the most blown 10 point leads in 49ers coaching history with 18.

Second most is Walsh with 8
Mariucci has 6

And we have a stacked roster full of All-Pros and Pro Bowlers on paper.

I don’t think Kyle will ever learn so I think if the 49ers miss the playoffs this year with Purdy and most of the guys healthy, then Kyle has to go. If we don’t make the playoffs I don’t want to see that narcissistic egocentric offensive coordinator and fake xxx genius Kyle on this football team next year.

While our stacked roster is 2-3 and struggling big time, the unappealing lineup of the KC Chiefs continues to overachieve because they are led by a real head coach and a real DC who both have BRAINS.

Looking at this makeshift Chiefs offense who continues to dominate while missing their #1 RB and #1 WR makes me sick to my stomach

i mean, it’s super frustrating losing these games like this but at the same time it’s not like we’re getting blown out of these games. some adjustments clearly need to be made and hopefully they can figure that out asap cause the sky ain’t falling just yet but it’s sure getting there.

if/when they figure it out this team can play with anyone. unfortunately under shanahan they’ve also shown they can play down to anyone too. they need to do anything and everything to gel. idc if poppa shanahan needs to be on a headway keeping kyle in check
To me it ain’t about “can we play with anyone?”

It’s about “can we compete with the Chiefs?”

All roads go through the defending champs.

No team in the AFC will beat them in a playoff game so at the end of the day, if Kyle can’t beat KC then we ain’t ever winning a Super Bowl until Mahomes, Kelce, Jones, Reid, and Spagnulo all retire

I love the optimism in here.

But let’s be realistic, we ain’t playing in the Super Bowl this year let alone win it. Not when there’s rumors ONCE AGAIN of Kyle losing the locker room.

Same old song and dance with Kyle. He can’t adjust. He can’t coach players up. He doesn’t motivate his team. And he is and has always been all about himself. That’s why he always trying to run pass play after pass play when he damn well knows he should be running the ball. The guy’s ego is unbelievable. And frankly I’m done with him.

I want Shanahan out as long as there’s a viable replacement coach who has proven experience in either getting to the Super Bowl or winning it all

The list is short for me: Belichick, Gruden, Carroll, Harbaugh (if he leaves BAL), Gary Kubiak, Arians

Get a coach who actually knows how to coach players and personalities then get a solid, creative play caller as OC or DC (depending on who the new HC will be) to partner up with the coach like Reid and Spagnulo do and like Walsh and Seifert in 84 and 88 and Seifert and Holmgren in 89 and Seifert and Mike Shanahan in 94

Notice the coaching stability in those years.

Meanwhile since 2019, Kyle has had a different DC every single year.

This is partly why we can’t win the big one. Zero continuity within the coaching staff.

How many years has Spags been Reid’s right hand man? How many years and championships did Romeo Crennel and Belichick work together? Or how about Belichick and McDaniels/Patricia

This ain’t rocket science

Every year the 49ers have a new set of coaches is one more year of disappointment for this franchise and their fans

There’s no such thing as moral victories for me bro.

This team has ZERO Lombardi’s to show for despite all those slow starts that led to strong finishes. It still doesn’t solve our number one problem - Kyle Shanahan and his choker that he gladly wears around his neck every Sunday

See my comment above regarding continuity with leadership.

Kyle can’t keep a coach because my feeling is that DC’s want to use the 49ers as a platform to build their resume for a HC position and because they have no loyalty to Kyle, they bounce the first chance they get.

I also get the feeling our past DC’s never had a strong relationship with Shanahan like Spags does with Reid

The Chiefs are about to go 5-0 with Mahomes thrrowing for ZERO TD’s and One INT against a likely playoff/wild card team. Without Pacheco. Without Rice. Without their 2nd best pass rusher Omenihu who has missed the entire season so far.

Is that talent or coaching?

Get used to it fellas.

I am attacking Shanahan this entire season until I see changes. I ain’t having it.

Kyle lookin funny in the light, hope the same scrutiny that went into wilks goes to sorenson

Had a 13 pt lead, defense looked gas’d, offense looks off, cant win like this.

Had a perfect opportunity with seahawks and rams losing. It might be easy to say turn the page, but some glaring mistakes might be magnified this thursday 🤢
100%

I would neither be surprised nor shocked if the team plays completely flat on Thursday.

And if this team takes another L, it means the coach didn't prepare them to win

Well… the chiefs are only 5-0 because of the refs 😝

shanahan is to brosizzle as purdy is to req

let's stay calm fellas. get a dub this thursday and right the ship. i know it's one game at a time but it would be poetic for them to flip their season and go on a run against the seahawks, chiefs and cowboys: recent rival, a current rival, and a historic rival.

It was actually frustrating watching the chiefs game and see all the flags thrown in favor of the chiefs and no PI called for the saints.

the chiefs offensive strategy: throw it deep downfield, way past the intended receiver, and pray for a DPI.

every single time.

Saints had a few that weren't called and even the last one at the end was blatent that aikman just joked that it looks like the refs just wanna wrap up this game and go home

I’ve been seeing this circulate lately. I agree, but they started 3-4 in 2022 before winning the last 10 regular season games that season.

Anyhow Seattle on Thursday is as close to a must win for a week 6 game as there is. If they win they’re in first place in the division. If they lose, they’re 2-4 with Kansas City and Dallas coming up while also being 0-3 in the division.

The schedule looks pretty brutal moving forward. If they’re going to make a second half run. They need to beat Seattle Thursday and at the very least split the two games between Kansas City and Dallas. Ideally they win all 3 though.
