-YORK: Obviously, we didn’t achieve the things we set out to achieve. We should be a playoff team. We aren’t a playoff team this year. Very disappointed about that.
We need to figure out how we can get into the playoffs and how we can start competing for Super Bowls.
-Q: Singletary has a couple years left on his contract. A new coach would cost a lot more. Is money a factor in this decision at all?
-YORK: Money is no object. I mean, our object is to win the Super Bowl, year in and year out be there and compete for Super Bowls. We’re going to make sure we get this right.
-Q: The cameras caught Singletary in a heated conversation with Troy Smith, which is something that has happened a few times this season. What’s your reaction when you see that happening?
-YORK: I’m not worried about individual things like that. What bothers me is we come in here, this is a playoff-caliber game, and we didn’t get it done. And that’s the bottom line.
-Q: Is there an aspect of this team’s performance that particularly disappoints you?
-YORK: I think the focus. You come into a game like this and we look inept on offense in the first half. We didn’t get anything done except for two plays that really players made. Crab made a great play, Teddy made a nice play on the punt return.
We aren’t where we need to be. I’m not taking anything away from the Rams, I’m not taking anything away from the Seahawks. I wish those teams the best of luck going forward, and somebody has to win the NFC West, which is strange enough that somebody’s probably going to win it at 8 and 8.
There’s no reason that we aren’t the team that won this division this year.

Echoing what Damon Bruce said after the game today....the 49ers coaching staff has insisted that Nate Davis isnt good enough to start at QB in this league. That is all that I need to KNOW that Nate Davis IS good enough to start at QB in this league.
