I have no words; this is getting insane.

Netanyahu wants endless war and his plan is to keep attacking Lebanon thus breaking the cease fire between the US and Iran. Iran closes the straight of Hormuz. Moreover, Iran has vowed to use their proxies in Yemen to blockade the Red Sea and therefore render the Suez Canal useless.

If that happens, the global economic fallout will be orders of magnitude worse than COVID and its aftermath.

Physical shortages will hit across Asia. *
The US will weather this better than most but there will still be enormous economic pain worse than in 08-09. There could be riots. There could even be a liberal officer led military coup if this happens. This is is what Trump wants to avoid (sure would be ironic if his war with Iran ended in regime change he but not for Iran).

Trump wants to avoid such an outcome. While he enjoys alternating green belligerent and conciliatory in order to play the markets, he wants to avoid the economic catastrophe described above. He doesn’t want to lose the midterms badly and/or get couped.

Netanyahu wants such a catastrophe and for Trump to get desperate and try to break the twin blockades by using nukes on Iran.


How will this end up? I’ve got no idea.

I feel like this should be one of them.

Never met the man, but I’m certain he loves it. Thinks it’s the best ice breaker at parties. “Hi, I’m Jeffrey Epstein. No, relation to the other one,” while laughing.

It was reported months ago that he was bored of the military actions in Iran. It was immediately denied, so of course it was true.

I mean, there’s probably some truth to that.
Either way it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a blatant war crime to target civilians and/or civilian infrastructure, even if hypothetically there are ‘legitimate targets’ inside.

That school full of kids that the US bombed in Iran was next to an IRGC compound too. Doesn’t change anything about targeting civilians being an explicit war crime. It’s smart to build schools etc right next to military compounds but the likes of Israel just see it as extra motivation if they can slaughter some extra civilians.

Even if, hypothetically, a hospital or similar civilian facility is filled to the brim with military targets, it doesn’t give anyone the right to bomb said facility.

Even that Israeli operation where they set off mini bombs inside those communication devices violates that basic principle. The targets in possession were (supposedly) exclusively military targets but it ended up as a gigantic war crime anyway because they indiscriminately set them off all at once without accounting for civilians who were nearby.

Israel massacring civilians isn’t merely a byproduct, it’s the main goal in the first place.
