Support your local public library. Go borrow the book.
This

Whenever I want to read a book by a right winger, I get it from the library. After I am done reading it I place it in a hazmat bag, return it, then take a steaming hot shower with tons of Castile soap. The peppermint tingle help gets the right wing filth off.

Again, that doesn't work. Private donations will not only not cover what is needed, it is an efficient way of doing things and introduces a lot of other issues into the process.

No legitimate economist backs you up on this theory.

More issues than the status quo?

More issues than Congress?

As always, I’ll defer to you.

Private funding
Private funding to public schools? Has that been a proven salve to the damage done by cutting public funding to schools? Because from my understanding, private donations cant match public funding of education.

Yes.

Because in times of recession and group of individuals won't be able to, or willing to, fund continued donations through debt. So you are basically putting the responsibility of educating the population on the whines of the individuals.

No developed nation does this, because it is asinine to attempt. Even most conservatives realize this because the want to privatize the schools, not the funding source.

He is talking out his ***

Conservatives know that plan is stupid. That is why they want public funding into private schools. They cut funding because they know that it is disportionately hurt Minorites and poor folk because at the local level rich white neighbors can make up the difference with property taxes. Poorer ones can't.

Has public funding to public schools been a proven salve (great word) to the issues with a lot of public schools?

Because from my understanding a lot of Public schools have a lot of issues.

There are schools that operate, fine, that are mostly funded via private tuition and donations.

dwalk31 dwalk31 if you said "sprinkle fairy dust on it", it would be just as valid of a plan as think private donations can just make up the difference.

“Trust congress to fix it” is your “sprinkle fairy dust on it.“

This is the same congress who couldn’t remove a president that you felt was CLEARLY deserving of removal.

What is your issue with school choice vouchers?

Generally it's been proven more money leads to better education. Cutting funding in inner city schools has directly been linked to poorer performance and created the issues you touch on. As far as schools that operate fine via private tuition and donations, are you referring to schools with wealthy benefactors or referring to magnet schools?

They go by different names. In Atlanta, outside of private schools, I think there were magnet programs; I’ve heard of charter schools in other places, etc.

Sports booster clubs, Band booster clubs, church donations, celebrities that graduated from the inner city school (I guess that’s a wealthy benefactor), other professional alumni, etc. Are all private donations.

I get a deluge of emails asking me for donations as an alumni of various places, monthly.

I don’t support the idea of public funding or bust.

What was the policy the Bush 2 administration implemented? No child left behind? Except those that dont perform up to the set standards ARE left behind? Yeah, Bush and Co knew what they were doing. Baetsy knows what shes doing by accelerating the same underlying policies. But Dwalk and co will pretend it's the schools fault because they dont live up to set standards. Standards that are set for all schools, wealthy and poor, they know will be out of reach, directly leading to funding being cut. Funding being cut for wealthy areas doesn't matter tho, because the wealthy individuals in the school district CAN donate as a tax write-off and keep good teachers, while poor areas cant keep up. The viscous cycle is a predetermined plan set in motion that, just like other areas of social discrimination, places the onus of failure on the victims of said discrimination.

So **** Dwalk and anybody else that says public funding being slashed isnt a big deal.

Barr is shady and clearly acts more like a Trump defense attorney than an AG but this does not look like a credible source.
Update: I have confirmed that 7 Mueller cases were shut down within 10 days after Barr was sworn in as AG.

It was revealed in a court document obtained by Katelyn Polanyz from CNN, released by Chief Judge Beryl A Howell

Also generally, we can discuss how much socialism to interject into our economy when it comes to things that effect working age adults.

However, America should institute full blown socialism when it comes to children. Everything from the healthcare, education, housing, food, should all be subsidized or given to them as free. No parent should have hospital bill for their child, school lunches should cost zero, kids should ride robust public transportation systems for free, attend well funded schools, breath clean air, drink water free of any heavy metal of pollutants, and give them a nest egg in the form of a baby bond. And we should not even think about what it cost. I am talking from birth all the way into their early 20s.

Subsidizing kids puts them in a higher economic trajectory which means they will cost society less later in life. Basically, the long term benefits of these policies basically make these interventions free.

The American economy is all about choices about who we prioritize. Poor vs rich, white vs non-white, landlords vs renters, firms vs workers, young vs old. While I feel that in most areas we have to rebalance priorities, for the young vs old we don't have to make that choice. Working age adults should pay to give a quality standard of living to the young and old. Expand the social safety for all, but make it real plush for your children. Then they grow up and do the same for the next generation. In that setup, you are raising the level of economic security for people, and it cost society little to nothing.

Oh, and let us protect our young ones from sexual predators like Roy ******* Moore.

So you dont support public funding of schools? I'd like to know if you think private donations can support thousands of students and their teachers in underprivileged areas.

Lt Col Vindman’s twin brother Yevgeny has reportedly just been fired as well, despite not personally testifying against Trump and his co-conspirators.
The brother worked at the NSC.

Appears to be retaliation for his brother’s testimony.
