It says a lot that neither Kavanaugh or the GOP is even considering sending a subpoena to Mark Judge. He could corroborate Kavanaugh's proclaimed innocence and what happened or didn't happen, if that is indeed the truth.
One would think a friend would be willing to testify on Kavanaugh's behalf if he is falsely accused. Unless of course he would have something different to tell Congress.

I work with lawyere for a living, this is going as expected ... There's no way around the sensitive nature of the testimony ...

If you were (falsely) accused of a sexual assault and your friend is the only other witness, why would you not ask him to testify on your behalf to corroborate your innocence?

Logically, there's no reason for them to deny an FBI investigation into these claims.

If nullified, this will take away the ability of states to prosecute those who have received federal pardons, unlike the current rulings, which have been interpreted to mean that you can still be charged with state crimes after a presidential pardon.
