I’d imagine this was due to there being different statutes of limitations in Pennsylvania and Maryland, respectively.
Obviously, there are major disparities in the criminal legal system based on the race of the accused but a comparison of Cosby’s situation and Kavanaugh’s situation is not a prime example of that.
Most of Cosby’s rapes are time barred against prosecution, he got charged and convicted in Pennsylvania on one of his more recent sexual assaults.
With Kavanaugh, we currently have one accusation where the statute of limitations passed. Now, it looks like more accusations are coming and if he is credibly accused of rape in the last few years and its in a county with a Democratic prosecutor then he may be put on trial for sexual assault.
