I'm hoping this is motivation for people who happen upon this thread to vote.
There are some honest-to-goodness sociopaths in government right now who gleefully use their authority to destroy the lives of the most vulnerable people imaginable. It really seems like they get a kick out of it.

Talking about out of state forced, in this context, is a neo confederate dog whistle with shades of homophobic dog whistling blended in as well.
The ironic thing is that millions of people born in Texas are Democrats: black people, in Houston and Dallas and up along the Arkansas border; the Latinos in the Rio Grande Valley; Vietnamese Americans, in Houston; white, Texas born liberals, in Travis county, form a massive bloc. The number those white ranchers, beloved by conservatives across the country, is a small share of the population on the Lone Star State.
The reason why the GOP still wins elections in Texas is due to the influx of patrolling engineers from Michigan and actuaries from Pennsylvania who moved to the suburbs of Houston and Dallas.
The face of the GOP in Texas isn’t some blond, laconic cowboy; in 2018, it’s a 400, Ohio born, diabetic, survival blog reading computer programmer who lives in a suburb of Houston who can’t wait for the next hurricane so he can shoot “looters.”
