Am I supposed to be offended if someone calls me a straight white male? What a ridiculous notion to try and compare it to the n-word.
I consider 'cracker' to probably be at or near the top of racial slurs for white folks and I'd still just laugh if I was ever called that. I'm sure I've heard it in online gaming voice chat plenty of times. There's hardly any historical context behind racial insults against white people and calling me a cracker or even a white devil or something similar is no different to me than a regular insult. Hearing that doesn't invoke much of any response or thought from me besides that the person either dislikes me personally or maybe has something against white people.
When a white person uses the n-word against a black person, I assume they are reminded of the historical context of whites using that word to insult and dehumanize black people during slavery all tthe way up to today. They are also perpetuating the system of white supremacy.
When someone uses racial slurs against us white folks, we're reminded of what exactly? I'll assume that person probably has some kind of issue with white people and I'll move on with my day and forget about it. While we're by no means all supporters of white supremacy, we do all reap the societal benefits from it. And there are quite a few of those advantages. I also very much doubt that is going to change drastically any time soon, if ever.

Frankly, white people who compare any racially insensitive language used against them and try to equal it to the n-word, those people are just snowflakes who need to get a grip.

It's deeper than that.
It's a way to lure white folks unaware of history into the white supremacist bubble.
What you describe, as well as attacks on policy concessions made to African Americans (affirmative action, HBCUs) without ever mentioning the context in which those things came about is a way to manipulate those people into thinking they are being taken advantage of.

WS are exploiting the consequences of an education system that has failed to properly teach the history of Black America.

Mueller Probe Expands to Israeli Entrepreneur With U.A.E. Ties
Investigation has sought testimony regarding work of Joel Zamel, founder of several private consulting firms
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe is looking more closely into Middle Eastern involvement during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, as it is now exploring the role of an Israeli entrepreneur with ties to a Gulf monarchy, according to people familiar with the matter.

Mr. Mueller has been conducting interviews about the work of Joel Zamel, an Australia-born Israeli businessman with experience in social media and intelligence gathering. Mr. Zamel is the founder of several private consulting firms—including a crowdsourced analysis firm called Wikistrat as well as the Psy Group, a secretive private intelligence firm with the motto “shape reality.”

A subpoena concerning Mr. Zamel’s work, but not issued to Mr. Zamel, was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Zamel met with Donald Trump Jr. , Mr. Trump’s eldest son, at Trump Tower in the months before the 2016 election along with George Nader, a top adviser to the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss an offer to help boost the campaign. Erik Prince, a U.S. defense contractor who specializes in the Middle East and had close ties to the campaign, also attended the meeting, which was first reported by the New York Times on Saturday.

Following Mr. Trump’s election, Mr. Nader made a payment to Mr. Zamel of $2 million, which a person familiar with the payment described as unrelated to the campaign. Alan Futerfas, a lawyer for the younger Mr. Trump, confirmed the meeting in a statement. “Prior to the 2016 election, Donald Trump Jr. recalls a meeting with Eric Prince [sic], George Nader, and another individual who may be Joel Zamel. They pitched Mr. Trump Jr. on a social media platform or marketing strategy,” he said. The younger Mr. Trump “was not interested and that was the end of it.”

Touching on what I was saying yesterday.......

https://slate.com/news-and-politics...o-prove-that-dreamer-was-gang-affiliated.html

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez shot down the federal government’s efforts to strip Daniel Ramirez Medina of his DACA status. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement had arrested and detained Ramirez last year, then falsely claimed that he was affiliated with a gang and attempted to deport him. He filed suit, alleging that ICE had violated his due process rights. Martinez agreed. His order barred the federal government from voiding Ramirez’s DACA status, safeguarding his ability to live and work in the United States legally for the foreseeable future. What may be most remarkable about Martinez’s decision, though, is its blunt repudiation of ICE’s main claim—that Ramirez is “gang-affiliated.” The judge did not simply rule against ICE. He accused the agency of lying to a court of law.

Everyone needs to stop pretending that Sessions and Trump see any real difference between members of MS 13 and other Hispanic immigrants

The same finesse move getting ran again, the same ****ing move :smh:
First step of genocidal governments is to dehumanize the scapegoats first through the media (where they rely on moderate voices to sweeten their message through explanations like "what the administration truly means is..." or "they're lonly talking about such and such group..."), then through policy. You fight them in the media, where they are trying to make dehumanization palatable to the masses. If you rationalize their BS, they win.

That's one of my main beefs with the media is that they do take a portion of a sound-byte and leave out the context of it or make their own interpretation of it instead of letting the viewer form their own judgement.
However, Trump is still a BA for all these years of slick talking, while living on the same lies he has talked about (hiring illegal immigrants, wifing an illegal immigrant)

In this case, context makes it better in some ways but worse in others. He did not literally say that all immigrants are "animals." However, his statements were in the context of a public official who wished that she could conflate all Latino immigrants with gang members.

Kinda funny being a former resident of Maryland and a graduate from UMD to see how Mason has upped their profile by becoming a hotbed of libertarian thought.

Affluent libertarians have been trying to install libertarians professors into positions at UMD, Hopkins, and Georgetown for a while now. But departments chairs have rebuked most of their efforts and like the one my undergrad professors put it, it is hard for you to be an Austrian economist, even a well meaning one, and make through grad school without realizing you are kinda full of ****. I know you have spoken about having a similar revelation. The data just isn't there to support such a worldview. So their bench is kinda thin

But he did admit that if he had fewer morals, no shame, and a gambling problem, that he would be peddling whatever the Koch Brothers wanted if the money was right.

I think that GMU Econ gets a high profile for the same reason that Dr. Jordan Peterson, Dr. Charles Murray Hillsdale College and Ivy League credentialed and reactionary Federal Judges do. The right wing mostly plays sour grapes with Academia in most cases but they will gladly embrace the legitimacy conferred by Academia when a particular school or nominal expert backs up their world view.

Austrian economics is fine in the context of Academic research, especially their insights about information as a scarce good, their business cycle theory and their hypothesizing about competing currencies. I can see how the more math and science oriented grad students, fellows and professors could make a career of researching and modeling those things The University could probably use them along with more leftist heterodox economists. Of course, the Kochs do not want someone like that. They want ideologues who can preach the gospel of right wing policy and Objectivist philosophy. That's what Charles and David Koch demand of GMU's Econ professors.

I would say this about GMU Econ. While it is the most lurid and baroque example of the power of capital reaching into what is supposed to be the dispassionate and detached World, other, better Universities' Econ departs are subject the indirect control by capital. The amount of consulting jobs for Econ professors acts as carrot and the neoliberalization of the entire university acts like a stick. Indeed, all institutions that try to be objective truth tellers: scientists, the clergy, journalist and the courts have been either coopted or undermined by capital. capital does not just seek to financially break the common man's independence, it wants to destroy his ability to imagine anything other than his poor and precarious reality.

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos's decision to stop investigating for-profit educational institutions for fraudulent practices is yet another reason to believe that the Trump presidency is most corrupt in US history, says former financial regulator Bill Black

Super Sessions with the SS on his chest to the rescue.

The system is ****** up though.

This whole conservative meme of "look at Detroit, it's run by liberals" is pure BS. New York and San Francisco are more liberal and they sit in States that are much more liberal.

the fact is that we, as a country, decided that finance and technology should prosper and that heavy manufacturing should die a slow death. We have an industrial policy that we dare not call an industrial policy. Then to make things even more unequal we turned law enforcement and incarceration into a business as well as a jobs program for the newly unemployed working class white man. Naturally, we must never call this jobs program a jobs program because as we were told, government is not the solution, it is the problem.

Basically we destroyed the sort of jobs that were allowing poor blacks to become middle class and then after destroying those communities with unemployment, we militarize the policy, we besiege the now impoverished black communities and we kidnap millions of black bodies and ship them off to gulags which act as jobs program for poor white communities.

Not only are poor, southern and rural whites dependent upon the state in order to stave off poverty, they have to chew through millions of black human beings in the process. If only the young, poor white buck used food stamps to buy some whiskey and T-bone steaks. instead, he has to put on a police or a prison guard uniform and engage in cannibalism on an industrial scale.
