A good day for torture. I suppose if there's any upside it's that she at least seems to be a very competent nominee for the job with support within the agency, rather than an entirely unqualified political appointee.

Haspel secures enough Senate support for confirmation as CIA director
Gina Haspel has locked in the necessary support to win confirmation as President Donald Trump's CIA director, as two critical undecided Democrats — Sens. Mark Warner of Virginia and Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota — announced Tuesday that they would support her nomination.

Haspel has now won votes from four Democratic senators, allowing her to overcome any potential remaining opposition from either side of the aisle.
Dems cant even stonewall properly :smh:

Georgia Republican Is Driving a 'Deportation Bus' Around to Win Votes

Georgia Republican gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams is trailing badly in the polls. Perhaps that’s why he has now unveiled a “deportation bus” that he plans to drive around the state as a way to drum up attention for himself.

In a video announcing the dubious plan, Williams—a state senator from suburban Cumming, GA—says that he’s not going to go on one of those “pansy political bus tours.” Instead, he brags, “we’ve got the deportation bus!”

This is literally the entire reason I'm not a Democrat ... I don't want politicians having more control over me than not ... At least the Right gives off the impression that they want less government control ... You admittedly want people who don't have your best interests at heart to have more control over you ... Unreal ...

Trump has submitted his financial disclosure, I figured he might use an exemption instead. Public release expected in the next few days.

Trump submits financial disclosure; release expected soon
President Donald Trump has submitted his annual financial disclosure to the U.S. Office of Government Ethics and it is expected to be released publicly in the coming days.

Trump’s disclosure, which includes all of 2017 and part of 2018, is being closely watched by ethics experts to see whether he will disclose the $130,000 paid to porn star Stormy Daniels on his behalf by his attorney Michael Cohen.

The upcoming report will also be the first extended look at how Trump’s businesses have performed since he became president in January of last year.

Trump’s previous report, covering January 2016 through the first few months of 2017, showed he had at least $1.4 billion in assets and at least $594 million in income.

And in other news, Pruitt now has another investigation on his hands. I think that takes the total of investigations into Pruitt to about a dozen if I recall correctly.

^ chances that he lied on that are 1000%

I mean at this point, lying on that would be the least of his worries

Still kind of stunned by the lack of action actually being taken across the board.

To further put the lack of action across the board in perspective, here are some of the pending investigations into Pruitt. I might've missed one or two.

The EPA Inspector general is conducting a number of investigations into various aspects of Pruitt's tenure; the travel habits, very high 24/7 security detail spending, the use of a specific law to give top aides large raises, meetings with a mining industry group, the Morocco trip and the lobbyist condo arrangement. And now Pruitt's emails as well.

On top of that the House Oversight committee chaired by Trey Gowdy is also pursuing several probes of Pruitt's actions at the EPA, including using taxpayer funds for first-class travel, security spending, and his lobbyist condo arrangement. It appears Gowdy is doing a good job in doing so.

However the list doesn't end there. The WH Office of Management and Budget is investigating the $43000 phone booth. Though the idea of the WH OMB conducting a serious investigation is pretty laughable.

The Government Accountability Office has a few pending investigations as well; the removal of scientists from the EPA's science advisory board, potential lobbying law violations and the $43000 phone booth.
