idk if you are srs or not but the ar-15 generally has higher capacity stock magazines than a pistol, can shoot farther than a pistol and penetrates and hits other objects behind the target.edit(223 rounds also generally tumble in a target causing even more visceral damage than hollowpoints) It’s also easier to maintain down range shooting at high pace unlike a pistol. In a crowded setting like a school/ concert this would be the most effecient weapon unlike a glock. Vegas shooter would have been hitting cars in the strip with the bullets getting stuck in hoods and doors of a car because the 45 round will reach terminal velocity and eventually lose steam quicker than a 223/556/308 round.

AR-15s are simply the most lethally efficient and convenient weapon to go on a shooting spree.

This just isn't true.

From the distances that most mass shootings happen an AR 15 shouldn't have been the firearm of choice.

Also civilian AR 15s are unreliable in comparison to most other semi auto firearms.

The Aurora shooter start his spree with an AR and it jammed so he did most of his damage with a pistol.

This Waffle house bastard didnt kill more because his gun jammed.

There is a reason the Virginia Tech shooter had the highest body count outside of Las Vegas.

How many did the VT dude kill? Did he only have the glock or whatever? That was so long ago, I forget details.

I assume it was pointing out the correlation to mass shootings.

I'd be curious to see some stats of # murders vs # self-defense cases / lives saved vs # accidental deaths, broken down by gun type or model. And then a comparison in terms of efficacy and cost+risk:benefit to other weapons and/or self-protection approaches (security systems, locks, etc).
Maybe one day the NRA will actually allow government agencies to compile and publish reports on gun violence in America.

Mueller's most recent court filing confirms the raid on Manafort also sought all records about the infamous Trump tower meeting.
"Communications, records, documents and other files involving any of the attendees of the June 9, 2016 meeting at Trump Tower, as well as Aras and Amin Agalorov."

Father better be held accountable. They can share a cell
Is the father legally liable in this scenario? I'm not sure what law would apply, if any.
The firearms were originally confiscated from the shooter due to mentally unstable behavior that resulted in his Illinois license being revoked. Illinois has a law that allows firearms to be seized if someone's behavior constitutes as "clear and present danger" without necessarily requiring a criminal conviction or getting committed to involuntary mental health treatment.

However the father "returned the guns to his son when he decided to move out of state". If the guns were transfered while in Illinois that would count as gifting firearms to someone whose license has been revoked right? But what if the father gifted the guns back out of state in Tennessee? I might've missed some reporting but it's not very clear to me when and where the transfer of the firearms occured and what kind of laws would apply to this whole situation.

so you are one of those smart dumb **********ers eh?

“Most American assume that ‘domestic terrorism’ is a federal crime,” O’Connor said this week in a statement issued to HuffPost in his capacity as head of the FBIAA. “The fact is, while the U.S. Code defines the phrase ‘domestic terrorism,’ there are currently no penalties attached to that definition. Therefore ‘domestic terrorism’ is not a crime in and of itself under federal law.”

Didn't know about this. :{

Glocks kill more people overall tho...

Don't let the model of the weapon distract you.
It makes you look uninformed .

That isn't my tweet.. and the tweet itself looks like a simple statement of fact, the weapon used in those incidents

Not sure how someone else's words can make me look anything.. you seem a lil to eager, buddy

They captured him alive. Quite the shocker!

Sounds about white

Is the point of this debate is too prove that there are move efficient guns to commit mass shootings?

Because it sure looks like it.

And I have to ask what is the point of trying to win such an argument outside of proving you know more about guns. Otherwise, you're just making the case that more focus should be put on restricting and regulating access to handguns( which I agree we should). Cause you know, from closer ranges, it would be a more efficient killing weapon.

However, there is little to no case being made as to why the AR-15 should not be banned.
