***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I could see where the National Review is coming from if I was not so blinded by the hypocrisy of this piece.

IF they didn't have a long, longgggggggggggg, track record of using the words so-called "victims of Obamacare," or undocumented immigration, and whatever left-wing policy they dislike to argue their case, then I would be more open to their argument. However, it seems victim is only credible to them when they can use their words and experiences as a weapon against the left.

Another thing, this magazine was firmly anti-Trump, and slowly came home to him, and did what they do best; act like they are dismissing right-wing buffoonery, before giving right-wing buffoons more ammo and talking points.

The best political character in this thread was Rex's "Professional Centrist". It captured the tone, and moral bankruptcy, of "center right" and "right of center" political commentary.

So with all due respect, which is little, the National Review writers can collectively shut the hell up.

These hypocritical, unprincipled crooks can shut all the way up.

he is a kid who eats TIDE PODS, ****s his pants DAILY, and texts while driving under the influence of LIBBIE CONJECTURE and INNUENDO.

I'm in grad school for nursing, not government or political science. But the health policy class feels like a government class. For class, I was required to binge on a crash course for govt and politics videos. Binged maybe 3 hrs or more worth of videos? Damn that was dizzying. I feel like most of the info on there might be old hat for most of you guys.

I'm sure most of the country probably don't know the stuff that's on those crash course videos, which is sad.

Anyway, I have to write a 6-7 page paper on how Obama got Obamacare through the house. I watched a 50 minute Frontline video which was supplied by the professor but not so sure if I can get 6-7 paper out of that. Anyone can recommend me supplementary sources?

I lost respect for Rusty when I found out that he doesn’t like Barry Bonds.

You just not gonna let this nonsense go, huh?

Brah when did I say I didn't like dude?

I just said he was a cheater.

Dude would have been an all-time great without the juice. It is ridiculous he is not in the Hall of Fame. I'm more upset they was so flagrant with it.

Your hat and shoe size increasing in your 30s. :smh:  Respect my intelligence Barry and be a better class of finesser

Sammy Sosa I completely forgive for his actions. He was fighting against hyperpigmentation at the time. He probably thought the roids were a natural sunblock

Not off the top of my head. But I would check fact checking sites like Factcheck.org.

They go in more detail of the events, so you might get enough info to stretch it out.

Actually it passing the House the first time was not even that exciting, given hat came afterwards.

Thanks, honestly I was mostly just copying David Brooks and a little bit of Charles "bell curve" Murray when I did that character. But when I sit down and think about it, the right wing media complex is very good at laundering the garbage that starts what is widely understood to be the fringe (survival blog, A Wyatt Mann and Stormfront for instance) and it gets washed through infowars and then places like Breitbart and whatever platform Ben Sahpiro has and then it moves through the blue stocking Washington publications and then Paul Ryan quotes or paraphrases it and then CNN and meet the Press feel like they have to talk about it.

Once a piece of nonsense makes it down the chain, those who oppose it come off as radical and partisan not to be taken seriously. When Paul Ryan says that there is "culture of non work in our inner cities," anyone who would call him racist or even point out that he is categorically wrong, is branded the extremist.

It is amazing how polite society will (rightly) shun you if you are unsophisticated and not wealthy or well connected and you say that black people are lazy and yet after enough washings down the chain of non sense laundering, polite society feels obliged to meet the exact same nonsense half way as log as Paul Ryan or a DC "center right" publication reads or prints such.

I SEE YOU COMRADE AEPPS :emoji_guardsman:

This patriot wanted some A Wyatt Mann decals but the artists just couldn't get the big noses and the stink lines right.

Psych mental health nurse practitioner. Basically when I'm done with school I'll be a cheaper alternative to a psychiatrist. I'll be able to diagnose and prescribe psych medications.
:pimp:
Is prescribing any kind of medication legal by medical professionals who aren't licensed physicians legal for y'all though? Only a doctor would be able to do that here but we don't have as many nursing specializations and job titles. While not technically a nurse (we use a different term than "nursing assistant" but a literal translation wouldn't make any sense), a nursing assistant is a statute granted to students graduating in that specific specialization in highschool or alternatively after graduating the first year in nursing. This allows you to work in retirement homes, hospitals, ... and do most of the work nurses also do such as washing the patients, dressing them, measuring temperature and BP etc. but none of the traditional nursing activities such as wound care, preparing medication or even simple injections.
Virtually everyone working as a nursing assistant does the occasional injection if there is a shortage of nurses in their shift but technically those actions are illegal under the job statute of nursing assistant.

There's 2 ways to get a nursing degree, both higher education. One is a traditional bachelor's degree in nursing which takes 4 years. The alternative is a similar program called HBO5 but it's not the same as a bachelor's degree. You have virtually the same qualifications at the end of the day but an HBO5 nursing degree is only 3 years and it's a little less hard than the bachelor. With an HBO5 nursing degree you can also get your bachelors' degree through a 1 year program. In terms of what you do on the job there's no real difference, bachelor's degrees hold a higher standard in the job market of course but the job you'll be performing is the same. HBO5 education programs are also cheaper because they're generally taught in specific institutions such as a nursing school, rather than a more costly bachelor or masters in college and university. Before my health condition forced me to drop out I paid a measly tuition of rougly €225 for my first year in an HBO5 nursing program for example. A college program wouldn't be much different in terms of price but it'd be a little bit more expensive. I know that the Ghent University caps their tuition at €910/year (raised from €890/year in 2017) and that includes Masters programs in law and medicine so a college program would be less.

In your final year of you nursing education you pick a specialization (mental care, operation room, the elderly, ...) but it doesn't really give you a special title or anything. Just a nurse with a specific specialization on your resume.
