Missionary work has always been high risk: you can’t go in someone else’s land, tell them their way of life is wrong AND that they need to follow yours, take down their institutions AND put up yours, and expect them to take it without resistance. They’re not picketing against the opening of new churches the same way Christians protest over the opening of non-Christian houses of worship.

This is a pretty unhinged take. Enemy of my enemy and all that jazz.
The fact that the ayatollahs have been able to triangulate the Palestinian people to be used as cannon fodder and propaganda talking points to aid their wider ambitions in the region over the last few decades does not legitimize their own oppressive rule.
And to pretend that Zelenskyy’s goal has anything to do with Palestine, Israel or even Iran beyond annoying Russia and winning points with the west is either disingenuous or willfully ignorant.
Where’s Rusty to lament the quality of Palestine’s “allies”?

Israelis are openly talking about a coming war with Egypt and Turkey. Israel has taken over and plans to annex a larger share of Lebanon than Russia does in Ukraine.
Israel is like Russia, only worse. Israel’s territorial claims are more tenuous. Israel interferes in American politics to a greater degree. Israel puts its dissents in harsher captivity. And Russia is not engaged in active genocides.

From a realpolitik standpoint, I can see why Ukraine is trying to break up Russia and Iran's ability to cooporate. They are still helping israel commit genocides and in some respect, Ukraine has been harmed more by Israel because it has bled the US white. The US prioritizes Israel expansion over Ukraine's ability to actually defend itself.

I remember in 2022, it looked like the GOP's two year strategy of accusing every school teacher, and by extension everey Democrat in the Country of being pedophile, was going to payoff and the GOP was going to romp in the midterms. Then I started seeing ads from small left wing PACs that compiled highlights of republicans being caught luring childred, trafficking children, getting caught with CP etc. and it worked or at least it partially contributed to a pretty good midterm showing for the Democrats.
The way you rally your entire coalition and win over enough ultra low-trust voters (the real swing voter in this current moment) is to make a strong case that your opponents are pedos.

Russia doesn’t have genocidal intent or ambitions but at the end of the day, they’re still killing tens of thousands of Ukrainians for a stupid land grab and are pretty indiscriminate about bombing civilians or civilian infrastructure. In fairness, Ukraine has also targeted civilian infrastructure in response.
I don’t agree with Zelensky’s stated ‘no right to exist’ nonsense but if he’s telling the truth about that Iranian ship carrying military cargo, that’s a valid military target. Iran has been assisting Russia in its invasion of Ukraine both through intelligence sharing and providing drones.
If they don’t want the smoke, stay away from the fire. Same principle as Iran attacking military targets in countries who provide military assistance to the US or Israel’s war against them.

At the end of the day, Putin is a monster. While something had to give after the West's economic "Shock Therapy" imposed on Russia in the 1990's, an autocrat, who blames gay people for all of the country's problems, is not it.
I just wish that Putin and Netanyahu were treated the same. They are not. In many US States, you can protest, boycott, and demand sanctions on Russia and most Democrats will come out and support you. By constrast, you cannot do the same towards Netanyahu's Israel. That's not just the case in the US but also in Germany and the UK.
If I had to pick a "side," I'd side with those being invaded and displaced. But many elite and not so elite forces in the US expect us to act like Ukraine is the defenseless and morally supperior lamb but Israel's agression against Gaza, the Westbank, Lebanon, and Iranian girl's schools are "complicated."

She's doing this the right way. She's running for Congress in WA-09, which has a top-2 primary setup. If she finishes in the top 2, it would be a general election where either she wins or a Democrat wins.
Kshama Sawant has been an amazing defender of worker rights and human rights and if you feel that mainstream Democrats are too corporate and too compromised, donate to her. Again, she's not splitting any votes. Either she wins or a fairly progressive Democrat wins.

She didn't follow through on anything she campaigned on. Also, she promised to donate her paycheck...and then didn't (weird!). She was the first city council member to go through a recall election in nearly 50 years because her district hated her. She barely survived the recall, and then didn't bother running after that. She's not winning anything.

I think you are hyper focused on the Israel/Palestine conflict and are not realizing that Ukrainians only care about pushing Russia out of their territory. It is not their concern that the outcome they seek lines up with Israel becoming stronger.
Leaders of nation-states care first and foremost for the places they rule/govern. In situations where territorial integrity/stability is threatened, they only care for the places they govern. In this case, it’s more beneficial to Ukraine’s safety to cut off the supply of Iranian drones than to get Israel to stop influencing American politics. In fact, there is no need for American help if Iranian drones stop bombing Kyiv.

Russia had been pouring money into the GOp political ecosystem, which is why it’s been complicated for the red hats to support Ukraine. Now that the money stopped flowing, right-wing propagandists are having meetings with Zelenskyy and singing the righteousness of their cause. Israel is still paying both sides of the American political system.
It’s possible we could have come to a different resolution of the I/P issue if Arafat had found a way to use UN funds to fund a bunch of US congressional runs.
