Jesus tap dancing Christ. Is tariff his new favorite word? He keeps using it to threaten everyone, with no real idea how tariffs work.

He becomes obsessed with threatening buzzwords. Someone feeds him one, talks about how it'll screw over other countries, but doesn't understand how they work. A 100% tariff on Chinese imports would literally destroy the economy.

I’m down with Krampus, but it’s funny seeing a “trad” guy hating on something that actually is traditional. Ostensibly, all these self described advocates of “Europa Identity,” and “Retvrn to tradition” guys SHOULD all be major Krampus stans.

guess it would have helped if I knew who the hell he was :lol

They do.

The most consistent voting demographic in the US skews Republican too.

Politicians go where the votes are. That's what makes political boycott counter-productive.

I find the fixation on the Democrat-Liz Cheney link-up somewhat silly, considering that this is only happening in the context of discussing the state of Democracy in the US, something I would expect every sane person, of any political conviction, to be worried about. Nobody should be comfortable with a democratic system in which a Donald Trump presidency is a reality, and the voting base punishing democrats because they highlight that those they disagree with share the same worry is borderline sensationalistic.

The irony is, Democrats being repudiated by their traditional base for being seen with Liz is exactly what may make them move towards the right, especially after seeing the left's rejection of the Biden administration after he started implementing many of the economic policies they championed (better wages, investments in blue collar sectors, labor protections, college loan cancellations, etc...).

That's 3 out of 4 nonvoters didn't have college degrees between 2018-2022 (this number isn't going down soon); if Democrats continue to be painted as the party of the "elite," despite their very populist policies, it will be much harder to convince these nonvoters to support them in future elections.

I think folks who support Democratic policies must take into account how much their criticism of Democrat politicians feeds into the negative perception the less politically engaged public has of the party, and how much that can hurt their electoral prospects. At the end of the day, what we want is someone in congress to pass the bills you like, and you want someone in the White House to sign those bills into laws.

what do you think the left should do? just stay the course and people will come back after the **** show?

I think Biden was rejected because inflation mostly and his age.

most people in here are aware it's corporate price gouging causing the "inflation" but your average person is just going to blame him.

People talk about Joe Rogan this or that regarding the Dems but imo a significant and underrated problem is the online leftist politics community.

Again, THIS below (Hasan Piker) is the face of leftism online. He reached over 300k concurrent viewers during the election.
And here he is proudly justifying China’s annexation.
He literally describes China’s annexation as “good” because Tibet was a feudal state with warlords and slavery. There’s no missing context, he outright says it.
Same guy constantly saying he’s strongly against imperialism.
(Don’t mind the account, I just needed to find the clip)

That’s just scratching the surface but especially since Oct 7, it would be career suicide for a Dem politician to collaborate and make use of his massive audience.

His justification for China annexing Tibet would also justify invading and annexing basically any country with slave labor, child soldiers, … etc.

My point is the major alcohol companies will definitely have a say in it. Look at what just happened in Mexico. The big brands were sick of the whole "additive free" thing in tequila (because all the major brands use additives), so they lobbied the CRT to ban the term. Tequila brands are not allowed to market themselves as "additive free" anymore.

King of the Tankies.
It blows my mind how Hasan Piker has such a massive and loyal audience. He’s extremely ignorant, refuses criticism and constantly gives the absolute dumbest and most insane takes. His justification of the Tibet annexation is just a drop in the bucket. The only actual position he holds is ‘America/West bad, opposing forces good.’
Kinda like a certain 3-lettered user in the Gaza thread…

Hasan Piker’s political commentary sounds utterly insane and divorced from reality to anyone outside of his echochamber. The regulars here are leftists (in varying degrees) but I don’t think anyone here would disagree Hasan’s reach and messaging is a problem.

I’m not endorsing everything he says, but it’s not his job to be your college professor. There’s plenty of long books covering every aspect of China’s invasion and annexation of

His purpose, these next four years, is to show undecided voters that you can be a leftist who can speak in plain, non academic, non NGO, English and is traditionally masculine.

Ultimately, we need a 100 new Hasans, (among them would be quite a bit of diversity, especially on foreign policy and how they define imperialism).

Trump and his allies in alternative media were consistent and they could do world building very well. Moreover, the more extreme ones are covered by less extreme ones and wrapped around that are semi political podcasts that otherwise focus on gaming, lifting etc.

We need to match this setup.

I imagine he has probably done more damage to the leftist movement than good. He lies constantly, bans dissent or criticism on sight, … and comes off as completely deranged to anyone who isn’t way up there in the radical scale. After election day, his subreddit was filled with supporters discussing their abstaining or voting third party because of Gaza.

I absolutely agree the left needs way more streamers etc
who can speak to the younger generation in plain and genuine language. However they should also not be so utterly unhinged to the point it turns away anyone who isn’t very radicalized.
There are other less popular streamers on Twitch politics that average about 7k viewers. They only stream when Hasan isn’t streaming and turn their stream off as soon he gets on.

Naturally, they cling to dear leader for some crumbs of clout. Here’s a list of controversies from just these past 2 months.

DenimsTV: Banned for offering a $20k assassination bounty on a streamer’s head

DenimsTV again: Banned for hosting a race tier list where Arab = good and jews were bottom tier. Jew was masked by a dogwhistle. The bottom tier was “likes Sabra”, an Israeli hummus brand popular with jews.

CentralCommittee: Banned for offering a 100k bounty to assassinate a streamer Hasan doesn’t like

Frogan: Banned for also participating in the race tier list. No additional ban for stating she hoped US soldiers have lifelong PTSD and never have healthcare. Denims praised this and continually smiled and laughed at a streamer reacting to how his military dad has ptsd from his best friend being blown up by a mortar next to him. No ban for this either.

Notice a pattern?

Hasan flagrantly breaks ToS but he’s the CEO’s “favorite streamer” (CEO’s own words on video). He only ever got banned for repeatedly using racial slur, which I think was silly. He definitely used it at times in a way a racist would use the hard r, but the “slur” here was “cracker.”
A word that I as a white person consider a complete non-issue. It’s a slur but I think it is hardly ever used with racist intent, if anything I find it funny.
Hasan should’ve been banned countless for violating numerous different ToS rules but hey it helps to be the CEO’s favorite.

The online leftist politics community is sadly an utter ****show and desperately needs better representation with similar reach. The above people are what a leftist MAGA would sound like.
It’s hard to understate how incredibly off-putting it must be for the average leftist to go online and see these completely unhinged people at the top.
There are smaller and far less radical options of course but people are naturally inclined to seek what’s popular, rather than what’s more obscure.
