And if you compare it to the Jim Crow era, Black folks had an unemployment rate of 50%.

But you won't hear it from the Doc Umar crowd or the folks below:

My dad sent me an invitation to a thing a guy we both know has organised. It’s a speech by George Seay and then another guy speaking after (some sort of rebuttal to the first one?)

I don’t know much about Seay but he was Marco Rubio’s campaign manager during his aborted presidential run and I’m a bit suspicious this is some sort of evangelical thing - that’s creeping in a bit over here.

Anyone know anything about that guy?

four years ago, we were living through a once in a century pandemic. we’re just starting to climb out of it now. You can’t blame OR give credit to Trump or Biden for loss of jobs or bounce back jobs. things still not quite right.

I will disagree with that. Planning and preparation could’ve been done much better from the Trump administration, but didn’t. Biden Administration actually had a plan that they executed to improve jobs, infrastructure, and the ability to (for some) to have their student loans and PPP loans forgiven.

The economy and getting out of inflation wasn’t going to happen on its own.

Oh I can definitely give blame for Trump, despite what you may say. He had a chance to stop this early but he denied it was real, said it was a democratic hoax, was just 1 person coming from China, heat will make it go away. All was just ********. Plus he dismantled the pandemic response team Obama had set up. Everything was ready and he was like "nah, I'm good". Obama lives rent free in his head forever and he knew Obama would get credit if the PRT got to work and helped defend against Covid. But Trump ****** up. So yeah, he gets a CRAP TON of blame.

The problem republicans have is fundamentally, you have to be a pretty anti social person to be a black republican.

There are plenty of black conservatives but they just vote Democrat most of the time.

being a black republican means you either are you have little to no self respect; (Candice Owens ect.)

or you hate black people as much as republicans do if not more (Mark Robinson ect.)

I'm of two minds about the dock workers striking.

On one hand I'm happy that they are getting their money and this is a great example of collective action benefiting those who participate.

On the other hand, Longshoremen demanding both higher wages and protection from automation is like a modern day Jones Act - just another indirect tax on American consumers, making everything unnecessarily more expensive while protecting economic inefficiencies.

I think fighting automation is a losing battle in the end. Basically want to stifle innovation in the hopes of keeping their jobs. Are we just going to be decades behind technologically just to keep these longshoreman employed?

Because we are not embracing innovation and technology, things are intentionally slower and less efficient and these costs are ultimately passed on to the consumer. Automated ports are faster and would ultimately be cheaper.

You may not mind paying a little bit more if it means keeping these workers compensated fairly but I think it's important to understand that this is what is happening.

The company made record profits ripping off everyone. Those wages aren’t what’s causing rising prices.

Automation is at the point where you have
to fight it or no one will have jobs

Companies don’t pass down savings to you whether it’s through automation or suppressing wages. That’s trickle down economics and it isn’t real.

Yeah, that’s entirely the problem. I read some interesting stuff from the 70s (before computers were everywhere but when timesaving things where coming along) and it wondered how people were going to fill their time because of how much less they’d have to work - instead we all just produce 3x more but don’t get paid more.

This is probably worse because there is a risk of many of us being obsolete - and that’s fine if we use the money some make to then provide for everyone (that’s the Star Trek style utopia) but it’s not okay if a few hoard all the money and the rest of us are destitute.

That’s why they need taxed effectively - and you’re absolutely right that it won’t be trickling down and we’re at that precipice right now.

Where did he say it was a hoax? Once again you are not looking at things from a bipartisan point of view. You are taking bidens ad as gospel. In that ad he suggested trump considered it a hoax. Also no one took the corona virus seriously. Even biden made comments that it wasnt that bad in 2019.

Bruh,

We were all there in 2020, he absolutely called it a hoax.

Feb 2020. Easier than hell to find. Stop engaging these mental midgets who hide from the truth and lie to prop up human scum. They’re simply trash

did you even read the article that you posted?

Democrats attacking the White House’s response to the coronavirus had become the Democratic Party’s “single talking point.” ..that is what he was referring to as a hoax. Look at the title on the article

You dont want to post the quote because you cant post the quote without being wrong

Trump, Feb. 28: Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus, you know that right? Coronavirus, they’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs. You say, “How’s President Trump doing?” They go, “Oh, not good, not good.” They have no clue. They don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa. They can’t even count. No, they can’t. They can’t count their votes.

One of my people came up to me and said, “Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.” That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything. They tried it over and over. They’d been doing it since you got in. It’s all turning. They lost. It’s all turning. Think of it. Think of it. And this is their new hoax.
