sounds more like you wanted socialism which is fine. a few european countries apply that kind of government and is working well. some people might not be aware but Canada has a socialist government eventhough they follow a parliamentary system. the biggest misinformation that the GOP has done over and over again is demonized Socialism.
however, a change in government imo would only work especially right now in the U.S. is through drastic measures like dictatorship. it doesn't mean that dictatorship as an ends but rather as a means to change and transition to a better government. no offense to democracy but so far it has only protected the one percenters and politicians scare the common person that anything outside democracy would take away their freedom.
as far as history goes with dictatorship, among the successful leaders of such and I can remember is 1. Julius Caesar - until he was murdered by other politicians who wanted some of that (sounds familiar), 2. Oliver Cromwell, 3. Lee Kwan Yew.
for some of you that asks about Singapore, they have done pretty well and the people love it very much. someone like Trump wouldn't want to open a business there considering he is a scoundrel.

Edit: But like the hardest part to understand is many of these people have a hard time to understanding why people who are smart and want better will leave and never come back. After college or even HS.
