Jury duty shouldn’t even be a thing. Look around why should the average person be responsible for the fate of someone else.

I’ll never do it either, I didn’t go to law school and don’t need that responsibility. FOH

Jury duty should definitely be a thing, and more people should be willing to do it

Juries need to be more representative. In every way.

If black people are gonna face trial it would be better if they face a diverse jury than have a white judge decide their fate

What DeSantis is doing immoral and unconstitutional, but the solution is not abolishing juries

I get that but agree to disagree.

I want no parts of making a decision what happens to a persons life that I don’t even know.

It’s not about knowing them. It’s about proper interpretation of the law without bias which unfortunately can often be racial bias. And yes, I can see how it goes both ways (sending an innocent person son to jail or letting a guilty person walk)

Well yeah, most the country is racist. Ron desantis is just gonna call up the average Floridian for his death panel if he has it his way.

I get what you’re saying but they’ll find a way to rig the jury too.

Just got dismissed from Jury Duty selection on Monday.

I know one thing is they gotta update them damn reimbursement rates. **** was like $10 bucks a day from legislation 50 years ago

Pay me my bread mane

Yeah, the fact they won't up the pay for anything even resembling today's wages is why so many people try their hardest to get out of jury duty. You look at someone who is in a sales job (whatever type) and is full commission. Try and tell them they have to do jury duty for $12 a day or whatever joke rate it is and give up making $hundreds or even thousands of dollars that day (or longer if the trial lasts a while). Trust me it wont go over well.

Thankfully, I'll never have to serve on one and deal with it. With my medical issues (severe Crohn's) my GI doctor has written me out of federal jury duty many years ago, because I couldn't go hours between courtroom breaks for restroom (can't just get up and go when I need to during a trial, which with Crohn's, restroom trips are in the 20+ a day, if not more😞).

I just moved into a new apartment and it has a gas stove.
