Keep telling myself somethings got to give eventually when it comes to homes. It doesn't help that nobody builds modest homes anymore. All new homes are high priced ones. You see it a lot in old neighborhoods. Giant mcmansions built right next to homes a fourth of their size.

Regarding the economy.

-The data coming out is very contradictory. Some pointing to a recession coming, others pointing to it not coming

-The White House is messaging on the recent job report, which was unquestionably good. It beat expectations a lot. This is important because earlier last week there was talk of 2nd quarter economic growth coming in negative. Which would technically put us in a recession (not that simple). So I think it is understandable for the White House to signal boost the news that is now the case. Because business and consumer expectations, and the behaviors that result from them, are important determinants as to whether we fall into a recession

-Also in the jobs report there was news that wage growth is moderating. And it is moderating at the top middle end. Now it is not good news for those works but that is the type of downward pressure that will cool down demand and in turn, cool down inflation. So the Fed might rethink .75 rate point increases if this is really happening. But I think that inflation will come in hot, and still be widespread, so that might not stop effect the next rate increase but the ones after that.

So we can actually look at what is being said and why it is being said, or try to act like Joe Biden is trying to gaslight people.

But for some people it won't matter anyway

Developers are routinely blocked from building smaller homes and multifamily housing

So of course, when they do build they tend to favor homes they feel they can get the best return on. Which are homes for the upper-middle class and affluent

I hate to always have to defend Biden or anyone, but that was as much on the black caucus leaders as Biden.
They forced him to get that done after Len Bias overdosed. If we are going to constantly blame him, we have to blame those black "leaders" as well. In addition, over 50% of the black community wanted that bill to pass. Unfortunately, the consequences were dire.

With that said he had a huge impact on it & was instrumental in it… and I’m not giving him no damn benefit of doubt… those politicians knew clearly wtf those laws were going to do to poor black/Hispanic communities

That’s part of his legacy & his son wylin all over the world with crackpipes & hookers is part of it as well

What is frustrating and annoying are some old folks that don't know English and expect you to understand what they are talking about. I mean you are in America and you expect people to speak other than English.

I agree that it can be frustrating, but this is the point where I point out that the US has never had an official language and that this is a good thing.

Man, I also advocate for moderation in house size, but I think there’s some kind of magic at work. I grew up in a 1300 sq ft house with 4 of us that seemed roomy, but now I feel like the 1600 sq ft house I’m in with my wife and toddler is like 5% too small.

The metaphor for dealing with the crack epidemic was “war” and no one in the mainstream really pushed back. Anyone who suggested anything less than zero tolerance for anyone associated with the drug trade was basically committing political suicide.

Ice-T was so excited about the possibility of extrajudicial murder of Wesley Snipes that he became sexually aroused. It was crazy times.

United states is too fractured & has way to many groups fighting amongst each other to actively replicate what's going on in other countries. As long as that exist these politicians know their safe, hence why they do everything in their power to keep up the dysfunction.
