Official Pizza Appreciation!

dam lookin at these pics is makin me remember back when pizza was made by Italians and it looked nice and edible. the **** in NYC ain't the same. u got every pizza shop in the Bronx is Mexican's and Arab's

not saying they can't make pizza, just not the same. i gave up when the Halal spot on my block started serving pizza and had halal pepperoni :sick:

not tryin to offend any race or religion but u get my point ....
Bro what? :lol

In NYC, and I'm sure most of the country, immigrants are the ones in the back making the food in the kitchen.

Italian restaurants aren't using Italians to make the food because of cheap labor.

The only authentic food that can claim to be authentic is Mexican food because Mexicans are in the kitchen making it

It’s diff these days

In Michigan some of the best Italians places are owned and run by Albanians

In a blind taste test, could you identify a pizza made by just Italians? onewearz onewearz

Without a doubt in my mind. I've been eating NY pizza my whole life, my favorite thing to eat. I'll say without question i'd be able to tell. Can tell by the smell and would know off first bite. I remember my grandfather worked at a Jewish pizzeria and i used to wonder, besides why they didn't have pepperoni, why it tasted so different. U have a Puerto Rican guy makin pizza in a Jewish pizzeria with salsa music playin all day . Be like me owning a Chinese restaurant expecting people to find it authentic cause of the sign.

I can also tell a cheesesteak from Philly or NYC in a second too. Shame what NY's done to that beautiful fat guy sandwich ....

Yea I guarantee you some of then best Italian chefs in the world are actually central/South American
Here in Boston I’ve worked with tons of Hondurans, Salvadorans, and Brazilians

Must try the Grandma Slice too. It's on point.

I went bro

but it was at like peak hours on a Sunday

pie felt rushed

the potential was there but it overly greasy and floppy and they put the wrong topping lol

dont get me wrong it was still tasty just not 8.2 level, ill try again at the time you said tho

^ what's confusing, I'm curious
I'm just not gonna lean too much on one's ethnicity to determine how authentic or not they make certain foods.

Sure your cultural background and heritage can and is important but I'm not gonna dismiss you automatically because you're white and have a Chinese restaurant :lol . I'll look at you sideways if the food stinks and you as an individual didn't take the time to understand nuances and history of making food outside your own background

My college town had a Chinese food spot run by a white guy. The food was good although I was accidentally served pork one time

You guys really think your Italian food isn’t made by Ecuadorians? Like some Italian grandma is back there rolling pasta?

Nah, some 20-30 something year old central or South Americans are back there cooking with a couple white guys and they’re all telling 🍆 jokes which is a universal language in kitchens.

I worked in a kitchen when i was younger at an Italian dinner theater in Delaware. Not one Italian makin the food back there  i would laugh all the time about it. Even got fired cause i heard this old Italian guy beefin about the food and how it tastes cause of who's cookin it (hispanics). I laughed and asked him if he would like some spaghetti tacos, he went to the manager and i was driving home 20 min later

Damn, they definitely rushed it if it came out floppy. They always have a firm crust when I go. I probably won't go back there till the crowd starts to filter out.

Yeah I felt kinda bad cuz you know a small shop can’t keep up like that
