You can. Just set the picture style in the menu to Monochrome or blk/whtOriginally Posted by stepinitup

there are more megapixels in the 40 and 60.. but that doesnt really matter too much unless you're printing. there are more autofocus spots inthe 50. also the 50 is heavier bigger, idk if that really makes a difference to you though. just google d50 vs d40 vs d60 or some variation of thatOriginally Posted by Air23Jordan707

I am enjoying photography and my brother has been letting me use his D90. I plan on getting a Nikon also since we can interchange lenses. My question to you guys is which would be a better starter body? A D40,D50, or D60? I am choosing between these since there are a couple of body's on craigslist going for 250-300 and thats sort of my budget since im just a beginner and in college. =\ Anyways any help and input would be great thanks!
Ok Thanks. Is that the D50's only comparative advantage? As far as shooting go is the 60 or 40 any better? Im a bit new so its good to hear for experienced people since my brother isnt around much(doesnt live with me).

I did some reaserch and there are a few cheap canon primes I would like to get my hands on. The 35mm f/2.0 seems to be very underrated. Plus one of my wants is low light ISO and the samples of prduction T1i's are sick.

Welcome indeed, yeah i've seen an influx of Nikon shooters lately. I've used Canon since i had a film SLR so i already had an EOS lens sothat alone made me go Canon when i moved to digital, never looked back.Originally Posted by lauk4kicks
