Official PC thread.

Looks like I will be going the cablecard route after all. Gonna wait until summer comes though to start the build

Just ordered all of my stuff...

Pretty nervous because this will be my first build and I'm gonna attempt to build it myself, but I think I should be OK.

Definitely didn't need the i5 2500K, but I might get into PC gaming at some point, so I figured I'll just get a good CPU now.

Obviously I'll need a GPU, too, but onboard graphics are fine for now.

Item List:

1 x ($21.99) DVD BURNER LITE-ON | IHAS124-04 % - OEM

1 x ($189.99) SSD 120G|OCZ VTX3-25SAT3-120G R

1 x ($49.99) CASE ANTEC| ONE HUNDRED RTL

1 x ($139.99) MB ASUS|P8P67 LE (REV 3.0) P67 1155

1 x ($99.99) MS WIN 7 HOME SP1 64BIT 1PK - OEM - OEM

1 x ($224.99) CPU INTEL|CORE I5 2500K 3.3G 6M R

1 x ($69.99) PSU ANTEC|BP550 PLUS RT

1 x ($49.99) MEM 4Gx2|GSKILL F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

1 x ($20.99) KB&MS LOGITECH | MK120 R

1 x ($25.99) CPU COOLER CM| RR-B10-212P-G1 RT

I'd honestly be fine w/ the stock heatsink,

.

The only thing I'm doing on this build right now is playing online poker.

If I start playing games I'd probably look into getting a better one.

ASUS mobo

ODD
Ceton InfintiTV
RAM

Waiting on price to go down before I get a HDD. But what I want to do is connect this rig to my TV through the mobos HDMI. And I'm gonna get a cablecard from my cable company it's only 2 bucks a month. WHat do y'all think?

It's all good, but why the Ceton ?, I know they released a driver update to assign tuners over the network but it has to be locked to a computer.
The HDhomerun prime is cheaper, its a network pool of tuners instead of hard assigned and you can always add more.  But if you really need 4 simultaneous tuners for recording at the same time than the ceton is your best bet.

I plan to setup a CableCard MCE setup as well, but I will be getting a book-size barebone system, A i3 or i5 system.

Either Mac Mini

or one of these     http://www.amazon.com/Gia...id=1322869452&sr=1-3

I'd rather have something that I can plug into my computer rather than a router because my internet is really spotty.
But I was looking and I couldn't really find anything, but I don't need that Ceton, I only need a tuner for one card. Couldn't find too many like that.

Yo I just looked at that system you posted. That looks perfect for what I'll be needing it for and it'll save me about 400 bucks.
Never heard of booksize before. I need to look into this more
