Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

Last edited:
man hate to hear that about the little one.

My son had an allergic reaction to something and my mother in law was watching him at the time. He was really young like 3 months, he started to break out in red spots all over his body and she jammed with him to the pharmacy and gave him Benadryl in the parking lot and it cleared up.

I remember the first time my son pee'd and pooped on me :{ :lol

Man, take me back :(

Were any of you guys the first to hold your children (aside from medical staff) when they came into this world?

I know it's customary for the mother to but I straight grabbed my boy as soon as they gave the OK :lol

I'm pretty sure they can't necessarily see yet when they first come out but I'll never forget that moment when I first held him & he stared at me. I was the first person he ever encountered.

I swear I felt a connection that can't be described by mortal words |I

A video of my son catching a TD pass in flag football. He play both tackle & flag football. Can't get him to play anything else. :{

Nice :lol

I want my son to play basketball but if he goes another route, I aint even mad. I know enough about all sports to teach him a thing or two.

I was second to my wife. Had to tell my mother in law to hold up so I could hold my baby

he don't need to play anything else, football is the greatest sport that isn't MMA/Boxing

Trying to get my son to get into football but he's at that stage where he says he wants to play a sport (boxing for him) but I know the desire to workout and break a sweat will be there and fade once he sees how much energy and focus it takes

Boxing is very good too.

Anybody with daughters get them into sports other than the usual like soccer. I'm thinking I'm gonna try and get mine in fencing when the time comes

How the hell she have the time for all that?

Daugter is gonna start dance at 2.
Wife already picked out the spot :lol

Most of it is seasonal and during school. Crossfit is on the Saturday morning and Monday after school. Ballet, Chorus and Swimming is during school. Gymnastic is Tuesday. Robotic is twice a month on Thursday. Girl's Scout is on Wednesday.

Depending on the season Cheerleader during football season. Soccer is now. And Gymastic is now :lol

When the time comes I'd like my daughter to play baseball, soccer and probably some swimming. I want her to be active and constantly busy. Sports kept me out of trouble and helped teach me a lot of lessons. I noticed as I've grown that most of the more dependable people I've worked with have had some type of athletic background.

Any fathers introduce or use guns with their kids or have guns in the house?

Planning on starting my collection, which at this point is for home defense (read: shotgun) and fun (read: everything else) and when me and my wife were talking she wanted to make sure I had a way to lock everything away

^ I was just speaking to my wife about possibly applying for a license and buying a hand gun for safety. With my neighbor two doors down being a victim of a home invasion at gun point...I've really considered on purchasing one for the safety of my family.

But, i'm not sure.

i have 4 kids and own 2 handguns. Just applied for CCDW permit. They don't know I have them, I keep them out of sight and hidden but placed so that I feel safe if someone came in the house. I think it's totally fine as long as people practice safety and responsibility. Looking into a nice safe/lock box though

I have a Springfield 9mm in the crib.

locked.

the kids know I have it and are familiar with it. I chose to educate them (the older two) so the mystique is gone and hopefully, the curiousity, until they're much older.

still plan on copping a shotgun, however the 9 will do the trick if necessary.

I in my planning on getting some firearms I keep picturing those videos on FB with the kids who have been taught about and raised around guns but also don't want my son to ever threaten to shoot somebody. I don't think he's mature enough to get any experience firing em so I think when I do get one I'll let him know what I have and why and when he matures make some introductions

Also my son just turned 10 and he's trying to spend his birthday money and I don't know if we should just let him spend his money as he wants or teach/force him to save a portion. What do you guys usually do?

I'd say it depends... how much he got, what he wants to buy, how good a kid he is, etc.

I have an AK-47 between my mattress. Old school way.

However, when my daughter turns 12-13. I'm taking her to a gun range. I want her to be fearless.
