In this thread late...I see a lot of folks writing off the Devils already...people are forgetting since they won the Cup in 03 Marty has played 75, 73, 77 and78 games respectively and then each playoff game on top of that...facing over 2,000 shots a season with the shoddy defense we had and the poor offense overthose four seasons...this year forced us to find our offensive groove and Marty has only played 30 games...not saying he's going to carry them to theFinals...but the knock on him over these last 4 years was that he logged too many games during the regular season...if he plays poorly again this playoffseries then I guess it just shows his age.

And ATFK I think you have too little faith in the Rangers...if Ludqvist plays a great series and the Rangers get some timely goals I think they could steal theseries...I mean it's Jose Theodore I think you guys can muster some offense against him...

Dude has been shaky as hell tonight. We're down 2-1, and both goals were bad ones...and It would be even worse if Callahan hadn't hit the pipeseither...if we fall 0-2 in the series, give Varlamov the rest of the games...

i hope you're right... i kinda gave up on them midway through the season and haven't wanted to jinx them too much by getting close withthem again when i saw they turned things around after firing Therrien. But they certainly have the weapons and the experience still to get out of the eastalive. i'm afraid they'd lose in the cup again, which would be really tough to take again.

If Fleury plays solid and Staal/Gonchar keep holding down the D they could go far again...too bad one of them has to go through NJ for Washington/Pittsburgh toplay each other.

IMO, the Capitals are waaay to cocky... it shows by Coach Boudreau leaving Mike Green on the ice for over 3 minutes and towards the end of his shift, Dubinskyblew right by the defense and scored for the gamewinner.
