Official New York Giants 2013 Off-Season thread: (2014 schedule on page 87)

Whats up with Ruben Randle, Coughlin isn't believing that BS about those 4 Eli Ints being his fault? Couldn't believe he wasn't slated in the slot when Cruz left.

He's been a problem all year. Drops, running incorrect routes. He was still on the field a lot. They're trying to use him as much to try to replace Nicks with him. He's responsible for 4-5 ints

Defense threw two shutouts in a row. :pimp:

Beating the scumbag Eagles. :pimp:

Cowboys and Romo pulling a Romo...again. :pimp:

2GB. :pimp:

Meadowlands Miracle. :nerd:

Bye Week came just in time. We have the next 3 games at home. If we go 2-1 and beat the Cowboys, it's going to get interesting.

Was he even out there most of the game? He gave me a big fat DONUT fantasy wise.:x

Hahaha. Same. 2 ugly Ws but Ws nonetheless. Bye is much needed although you rarely want to take bye during a winning streak. This is much needed this year the way we've started. Keep the momentum rolling vs Oakland in 2 weeks.

We're still playing some pretty bad football. Lucky for us there's teams on our schedule capable of playing worse than us. Watching teams outbad us has been entertaining at least lol. NFC East is a mess. Misery loves company though so let's keep plugging away. Doubt we can seriously threaten for the division but making the other teams uncomfortable is better than being a complete bust.

But the fact that we're only 2 games out of this, while still not playing up to par, I'd say is very interesting. The defense looks to be coming alive. If our offense and special teams begins to produce, in this conference, anything is possible. This could be a magical season lol, but in typical Giants fashion all hope looked lost, until yesterday.

Let's see what the rest of the conference does next week.

Why do you doubt we can seriously threaten for the division? Who do you think is going to win it? Dallas? Did you see their game yesterday? Those dudes can't close out a game for nothing. Their D sucks and they are givin up the most passing yards in the league right now. Eli should burn them up pretty good wk 11. If not, they will shoot themselves in the foot in the end. Philly and Washington don't look good at all. This division is soo weak, we're gonna set a record for starting out 0-6, then winning the division.

Dallas. They can par the course and win it. We dug ourselves too big a hole. Their collapse would have to be epic and we'd have to come on really strong. The latter being the more implausible. A win over the Vikings and the suddenly hapless Eagles doesn't have me too optimistic. We controlled yesterday's game from start to finish and couldn't even manage to put a TD on the board. 5 FG's isn't good football. And this isn't a new or recent problem. Our red zone productivity has sucked for quite some time. We got by on big plays and the big plays have been fewer and farther between this year. Our defense has shown up to the party but it's going to take similar effort from all three facets, offense/defense/special teams for us to make things truly interesting. We've gotta go 6 and 2 to have a chance. Not impossible but it's not going to happen kicking FG's. Looking at our remaining schedule our only room for error is Green Bay and Seattle. If we take a loss to any other team I think we're done. Most important game of the season will be that week 11 game. Lions and Chargers also capable of beating us. I'd love to see it happen, if nothing but for the lulz, but it would take a colossal effort and some help.

only reason i'm not optimistic is because we suck in the red zone. only a few teams in the league you can beat on FGs only.

Enh, we always sucked in the Red Zone. We relied heavy on the "big play", but we also had a legit running game. Hillis has opened things up from what I see.

Lettuce take it one game at a time. Dallas still has to play NO, OAK, CHI, and GB

The one we already played or the one coming up? One coming up only means anything if we win next 2. GB will be tough.

We always beat GB. Andre Brown could be back wk10 too. Hopefully this bye week we can get some things figured out. 2nd half of the season starts with OAK. We can still do this.

We've had success vs GB because we've had a useful pass rush those seasons, just look at the Cincy game this season. GB cannot protect Rodgers consistently.

If the Giants find a way to beat Oakland at home (no slouch defensively), things could get interesting with the ********/Dallas afterwards.

Defense not giving up any points and 0 turnovers from Eli sure helps get some W's. Giants left some points out there on the field again. They've simplified the passing attack these last 2 weeks, shortened routes and checked the ball down instead of launching gift-wrapped wabblers into triple coverage.

But on a side note, Terrell Thomas was named NFC defensive player of the weekl. :wow: :pimp:

Damn it! The whole NFC east won yesterday. And DAL and WAS were so close to blowing it. We would have been just 1 game back. Oh well, if Nick Foles can light up the Raiders, I'm sure Eli can too. Let's just hope NO can put DAL away next week...

OAK allowed 7 TDs last week to Philly. Eli has got to light them up. Then next week we got GB and they're beat up with Rodgers out. DAL could easily lose to NO and should...

We need to make a run now.

Winnable if they take care of the football and start scoring in the red zone.

Defense has played well enough the entire season, this tram really should have 4 wins at the worst if the offense was in sync.

Shows the important of run blocking and having a TE who can actually catch the ball and block. Thankfully the run blocking has shown some improvement, and having guys like Hillis, Jacobs, and now Brown to help in pass protection and run physically changes the dynamics of the offense, gives them a tougher look.
