On paper, it's still not a bad lineup though. Crash, JJ, Deron, and some of you act like Lopez is chopped liver. Add Hump and they have a very good starting 5. F what you heard.

He could, but he technically could do the same thing to go home.

Plus, to me, Deron probably has enough brains to realize that JJ has four years left on his monster deal, while Dirk only has two, which would free up Dallas enough space even if Dwight comes that Dallas could bring in another good player two years down the line.

Or be stuck with Crash/JJ for four more years, unless someone gets suckered into trading for them.

I gotta think that $$$ is one of the deciding factors right now. Dallas has the advantage of personnel and hometown advantage.

Gave Crash 10 year per while giving away the #6 pick in the draft.  This can't be forgotten all time dumb GM move.

remember the reasoning? "there are only 3 players we like in the draft"

there has to be some type of injury clause that allows them to get out that contract otherwise its a terrible contract
if i was them i would've signed beasley, illy, or batum instead, but i guess after they made that they had to re-sign wallace

I'm with you man... 130 million in those two players over four years.

130 millino for those two dudes...

And I agree with JB23, if I had to do things, I'd go for Dwight/Deron/OJ before I take Crash/JJ/Deron.

am I the only one that thinks Dwill-JJ-Crash-PF-Lopez is close if not better than what the Mavs have now?

JJ traded. Rashard Lewis traded. Ben Gordon traded. ..should be posted in the 'craziest things you've seen' thread in the General forum.

Again, you can bash on paper or cheer it on paper. Lets see what happens on the court. Nets starting lineup to start 2011-2012 season

DWill-Morrow-James-Hump-Sheldon Williams.

Projected 2012-2013 starting lineup.

DWill-JJ-Crash-Teletovic-Lopez. No use to go off on it if the Nets could not get Orlando to budge. I understand your into numbers osh, but this should play out on court first. The Nets have not been a playoff team for 6 seasons now. I like the change of players. Yeah the contract sucks for Joe Johnson and Everyone knew King was going to over pay for Wallace. had too.

Do you think Johnson might flourish with a great PG? He hasn't played with one since Phoenix. Could be a 50 win team IMO.

And just to let you guys let this sink in, JJ's last year in contract will only pay him 24.9 million..........

If we're looking at next year, we'll probably be looking at...

Deron/Kidd
CJ Miles/Vince
Marion
Dirk
Wright

So probably.

BUT, that doesn't eliminate Dallas from getting Dwight, which is something you have to think that Dallas relayed to Deron.

The huge difference is that Brooklyn has to bank on Crash/JJ for four years, while Dallas relies on Dirk for two years, and still have financial flexibility to go after Dwight.

seriously these NBA teams believe in 4th and 5th chances for some dudes

now do people understand why i said if i was presti i wouldn't give up harden for just the 2nd pick.. with the amount of dumb teams out there, i guarantee we could have gotten more

brook Lopez aint no scrub also. Yes he wont give u more than 6 rebounds a game, but IMO he's the best offensive center in the league. Dude can put up 20-30 pretty easily.

No they can't.

The player has to be your mistake originally. Atlanta could amnesty him, but if he's traded, the new team can't.

Al Jefferson is rolling over in his grave.

more of a PF

I don't care about the salries because it aint my money anyway. On paper that's a solid team. What was the roster when JJ was on phoenix? Nash-jj-marion-amare-?? I see some similarities

If Duncan and Garnett are going well into their late-30s, I don't see why Dirk can't. People act like he's on his last leg.

Might be able to get Roy to buy into a one-year deal to come with Deron and Dirk, too. And that knee surgery he had has been magic for lots of guys lately.

The Mavs are at least even with what the Nets can offer Deron AND they still have major flexibility to maneuver the roster going forward... The nets are basically stuck with what they have - a marginal playoff team - through the duration of Deron's contract.

Let's sit back and look back on the East.

Knicks- Melo, Amar'e, Tyson, Lin.
Bulls- Rose, Noah, Thibs, etc.
Heat- Bron, Wade, Bosh.
Celtics- KG, PP, Rondo, Doc.

Does anyone give them a chance in the East while JJ and Crash are there? Unless they know something I don't, I don't.

Dirk/Deron/Marion aren't contenders, but there's flexibility there. Marion can be moved in a heartbeat, as can Rodridgue and DoJo as a packaged deal. There's all the cap room you need for Dwight. Dwight/Deron/Dirk WOULD contend. Without a doubt. JJ/Crash/Deron I'm not sure they ever can in the East.

Out of curiosity would the Nets been able to afford D-Will, JJ, and Dwight if they didn't resign Crash?

Really not a fan of potential D-Will, JJ and Crash Nets' team.

Roy/CJ Miles are both guys I can realistically see coming to Dallas.

Not to mention Marcus Camby. Camby wants to start and log heavy minutes. He would in Dallas, and we could still re-sign Wright.

We'd have to get guys to agree to one-year deals, but it worked out this year getting SOME decent talent, but ideally?

Deron/Kidd
Roy/Vince
Marion/CJ
Dirk
Camby/Wright

Depends on the salary cap. I think they could've gotten close though, which would probably have been enough. No chance with Crash though.
