Can't restructure NBA contracts. And I'm with you NK, thanks to Dwight's stupidity he really has ZERO leverage at this point. If I'm Mitch and Jim, roll the +*@*!+% dice and trade Bynum for D12 and Pau+fillers for Josh Smith or take the Minny deal for Beasley+Derrick (don't be greedy just give ATL what they want) and have D12-Josh-Kobe play out this year and see what happens. Hell they could make it to the Finals and possibly win it with some decent supplemental pieces and it'll be hard for Dwight to just walk away after that considering the backlash that would follow and his fragile psyche.
Worst thing that can happen is that it completely doesn't work and we get both Dwight and Josh off the books after next season leaving only Kobe, Metta (player option) and Steve Blake officially on the books after next season. That's $41 million if say Artest doesn't get amnestied in his final year or just $34 if he does. That a lot of cap room in 2013 where a certain All-Star point guard that was a Laker for about 2 hours this past year should be back on the open market. Hopefully the Clips will go back to Clipping and he doesn't sign an extension during next season. Even if he does, it's not a bad crop of free agents in 2013 for the Lakers to try and get back to the top (ie Harden, Ibaka, etc.)
I'm going to need BK to make the move for JJ though basically assuring there's no way clown @@% Dwight can go there in any way. He keeps saying BK or bust but how you gonna get there without possibly taking a massive paycut assuming they do bring JJ on. He's going to be forced to sign somewhere why not LA where the franchise will be his after next season.

Im on the fence with Joe Johnson because of his contract & because it could make things a lot more difficult to pull off a Dwight deal (money wise signing both Dwight & Johnson & players we can send over there). The most recent rumors for the Joe Johnson trade have been Farmar, Petro, Morrow, Jordan Williams, DeShawn Stevenson (sign & trade), & a first round pick. Two problems with the potential deal is the Nets are waiting for the news on DWill & they don't wanna give up Brooks.
If we could pull it off (DWill, Joe Johnson, & Dwight) Im all for it... At the same time, I wouldn't mind taking O.J. as a SG either.

Can the Magic just trade this dude for %*%+#@# Brook Lopez already? You dudes are putting all the blame on Dwight...this guy has asked to be traded since early last year. The Magic are going to get a young 7 footer in return that's probably going to average 20 points for them, be a good teammate and not beg to leave to go to a bigger market. Now this is all on the Magic to make this stop.

steph is injured left and right, his ankles are made of glass. hes done and shown nothing to be offered an extension.

He's not crazy, just stupid and one of the most fickle superstars this side of Bean circa 2007. ORL gave him every opportunity before the trade deadline to sleep on it and make sure that he wasn't feeling forced to sign the opt-in tender and his clown self still did it anyway, giving up his right to be a free agent. If the reports around that time were true, ORL was about to trade his @@% to the Lakers and rather than do that he did the opt-in for this season knowing full well he still could have just walked away from the Lakers as well and became a free agent too and still get his dream of Brooklyn with Deron, but no he's to stupid to realize that.
I really want ORL to trade him to CHA, CLE, or somewhere horrible and make him rot this season. The "Dwighmare" TM: PMatic is 1000x worse than the Decision or anything Melo did.

I feel like if a team is inclined to, they might as well do it now before he gets relatively healthy and a number of teams will be interested.
Two years, $3 million or something, with an opt-out clause if he can't play by a certain date next year. I'd say it's worth the small amount of money.

he wont play the entire season. i dont think a team wants to pay him money to do nothing.
if anything this is a good thing for the pacers, they lose Hibbert and sign Oden next summer.
