@ESPNSteinLine Nets-Hawks talks: Sources say Nets now offering Farmar, Petro, Morrow, J. Williams, Stevenson (via sign-and-trade) and future first for Joe

Kev, this past season the Bulls gave up 97.4 points per 100 possessions. When Asik was on the floor, the Bulls gave up 89.7 points per 100 possessions.*

This just looks like the Nets just signed every bum they could think of to include in an offer for Johnson

The West is only gonna get stronger

Hawks with only 6 guys on roster. And already over cap.  Unless a better deal is out there.. I think they ultimately take this though (somehow Brooks gets included in the end).. There has to be a better deal? Right?

Meh, Rockets have been getting screwed over so long, bout time they screw over somebody else.

Under normal circumstances, that package probably doesn't even get you, like... Courtney Lee.

Not even Brooks in there? Jesus.

I would substitute Gerald Green for Deshawn Stevenson. But to get out of the Joe Johnson contract, I would ultimately take that deal as is.

So the team that just gave Gerald Wallace 4year/$40mil today, and is about to acquire a $19mil contract ($21mil next year). Doesn't want to include Brooks because it hurts their financial flexibility in the future.

Wait.. $21mil for JJ.  $10mil for Wallace. $17mil for DWill = $48mil.  (If lucky only $13mil left in cap 2013-2014)..   If they get JJ, they blocked themselves from Dwight...   Make the trade Atlanta

Dwight Howard: I'll only re-sign with one team

Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard told Yahoo! Sports he will not re-sign with a team outside his preferred list that trades for him, and emphatically denied that he ever used the term "blackmail" to describe how Magic officials convinced him to waive his early termination option.

As the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and other teams prepare possible trade offers for him, Howard told Yahoo! by phone that, "There’s only one team on my list and if I don’t get traded there, I'll play the season out and explore my free agency after that."

Howard wouldn’t specify the team, but multiple league sources believe that it is the Brooklyn Nets.

Howard also denied an ESPN report that he had told people Orlando Magic officials had “blackmailed

Dwight needs to just stop talking. He keeps digging himself deeper and deeper.

Just shut up. You made this bed, now you get to sleep in it. Play out the year and leave. But just shut up.

For some reason I trust Morey still

I don't think he does for at least a few years here's why:

Assuming the Nets get Joe Johnson

Next 5 year between JJ, Deron (getting a max), Crash  (not exact math, but close estimate)
2012: $46mil
2013: $49mil
2014: $51mil
(2015 you may find a market for Gerald final year of a contract)
2016 Joe & Gerald both off the book.

No way the Magic take Brook Lopez for Dwight, you'd owe picks for eternity.. And this is assuming each year Nets start over with 0 contracts other than Deron, Geral & JJ.

Anybody notice the Utah Jazz have 0$ committed to the 13-14 season? They have 4 guys who are team options (16.5mil total), but they can basically start from scratch if they hold off this yr and don't bring in anybody with yrs left. They could be big time players if not for the whole, "how much do people want to play in Utah" thing, which I used to think was overrated but right now nobody of consequence is trying to play anywhere but NY and LA if they can help it.

It do. Reality for them is only the Hawks would take those bums just to unload Joe's contract. ORL would not want that for Dwight. Quite frankly the deal is about right as far as value goes.

Nets should do their best not to include Brooks or Green.

I still think the Nets trading for Joe Johnson is incredibly stupid.

Because he won't sign with bum *#! Memphis

For me, the one name that nobody is mentioning is Ryan Andersen. Orlando's going to bring him back most likely since he's restricted, but not a word on what teams have contacted him. Dionte Christmas, Scott Machado and Zoran Dragic (Goran's brother) to the Rockets SL squad.
