Rockets beat writer tweeted its a 4 year deal. So I guess it's either 6M and some change or 8M and some change, per year. I wonder if it makes a difference on whether Chicago matches.

I've read from one of the Bulls writer the first 2 years have to be for 5 mil per. I dont think we match due to Derrick's extension kicking in and we still have to sign Taj. If you guys get him, you are getting one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA

If it doesn't work out, he's a massive trade chip in year 3.. If it does, he's a bargain.

I think Asik will flourish with extended minutes. He's a huge defensive presence and a great rebounder. And he's 25. And he's only played 2 years. And this is a good deal.

@johnhollinger: By my reading, most Asik can get on 3-year deal is $23.1M. Breaks out 5.0 yr 1, 5.2 yr 2, 12.9 yr 3.

They could match and amnesty Boozer for 14/15 if they wanted to, though.

I agree, he brings more to the table than Deandre Jordan. He'll get his 8pts 11 rbs 1.5blks for the rockets if he gets starter minutes.

I'd be intrigued. That's still a Top 2-3 team in the East.

Father time kicks that teams !+# at some point in the season though. And Jet is anything but an asset at this point in his career. He either goes 11-14fg for 28pts in 33 minutes, or 2-16 for 5pt in 30 minutes; no in between, and in either instance he isn't playing any defense or contributing any other way

That's why he won't be relied on heavily like he has for almost a decade in Dallas.

JET will be fine if you're not leaning on him for 18 a night and he's gotta jack up 15 shots every night...

If you've got depth and other scorers, he can sit back and let things come to him. Think he'd be great for Boston.

Marcus Camby has narrowed his choices to the Knicks, Heat, Spurs, Celtics, and Mavericks, a league source told Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com.

As much as it is funny, I think they would play DWill at the 2 if they sign Nash too. I think Nash is not coming unless dwill leaves. JA your looking way into the deals. They want Johnson and crash to play with dwill if howard does not happen. Let Monday happen. You will know by Tuesday if dwill will be in Dallas or not.
