I was about to laugh at the notion of Shump being traded but we're talking about the Knicks. If the Knicks trade Shump for 55 year old Steve Nash, I'm $$#++!* done.

Landry can get his bum *!$ outta here though.

Highly, highly doubt the Knicks trade away a great up and coming rookie for Nash. Shumpert has the potential to be a really good player in the NBA.

I think he'll jump Cole in the rotation if he does come, probably evaluate him for a while and see if he can supplant Perk who could then be amnestied to free up about 8 mil for the impending Harden/Ibaka/Maynor resignings. We really don't ask much of Perk anyways, so basically can Thabeet set screens, and guard traditional post bigs with no help and stay between them and the basket and make them take tough shots?

o hell no about shump, leave him out of this
Lol. I know man. Just trying to get my Suns back to those 04-07 "seven seconds or less" glory days.

LMAO...easily the most suspect duo in sports in recent memory.

My predictions
Deron - Mavs
Dwight - Lakers (somehow Stern will find a way to make this happen)

Nash - Toronto

O.J. Mayo - Boston

Eric Gordon - Phoenix

Hibbert - Portland (max contract lol)

Jesus Shuttlesworth - Miami

If Memphis can come out of this with either Terry or Allen, I'll be happy. I'll be ok with Hinrich, Foye, etc.

The Joe Johnson trade for Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar, Anthony Morrow and Jordan Williams hinges on Deron Williams' decision and the Hawks wanting MarShon Brooks. The trade would also have to include Gerald Green or Kris Humphries.

Don't get too greedy Danny Ferry.

I still don't understand why this idiot King would be looking to trade for JJ instead of Josh Smith. Makes no sense to me and offering Wallace that deal is just dumber.

Nets could make the right signings and still have room to trade for Dwight but it seems they think they don't have a chance or they actually don't and are committed to making sure the team isn't even a competitive playoff team. They should be really holding off and trying to offer any of their remaining assets for Dwight.

They should be out there trying to sign OJ too after everything else is settled.

id rather give a 40 year old Nash 2 year $40 mill instead of multiple year of the same amount to Lin. Atleast Nash will do something productive.
Knicks own Lin's bird rights, his contract won't even be affecting what little cap we have left anyway. Also where did you read anything about a 40 mil deal for him?

. Lin is gonna be so bummed losing his BFF
I really forgot all about that

Now it reminds me of Fields losing his BFF, Andy Rautins, in the Tyson trade

Overpaying Crash and trading for Joe just screams desperation to me... They feel like panic moves and I don't see why the Nets feel the need to do it.

so dwight can come to lakeshow

Because of the new stadium. That's the reason. The nets are meeting with Nash today. They are gonna wind up getting someone. Gordon. Deron, Nash, Johnson. Whoever

So they plan on taking Brooklyn by storm by crippling their cap for half a decade with a team that won't finish in the top 4 of the Eastern Conference?

Good luck.

Damn. I know with Jamsion and Parker gone we will have more cap space .... I fully expect us to make a move next year

Yeah that would be best. Someone on the Cavs board put this salary chart up...

Draft rights:
  • Milan Macvan - under contract in Europe until 2015 with an optout for 2013
Notes:
  • Cavs owe $12,250,000 to Baron Davis in 2012-13. That amount counts towards the teams salary floor. That amount will be reduced by Baron's 2012-13 salary.
  • Varejao has: 5% trade kicker; Annual $1Mil unlikely bonuses excluded; 2014 has $4Mil guarantee
  • Gibson has $2,492,332 guaranteed for 2012-13
  • Casspi has $379,551 in likely incentives for 2012-13
  • Walton's 7.5% trade kicker included; 2012-13 has up to $1,000,000 in unlikely incentives not included
  • Some portion of Kelenna Azubuike money might be guaranteed
  • Qualifying offers are just as % guaranteed as the previous contract. So the QO's given by the Cavs this year likely don't include much guaranteed salary.
  • Just took a wild guess at Jone's salary.

JJ, max contract Deron, and Crash kills their financial flexibility.

Then probably paying Lopez, they can kiss any hopes of Dwight and Deron goodbye.

If the Hawks send JJ, you'd have to think the Nets send Brooks.

They could have been good if the magic didn't break into Dwight's house at midnight and strong arm him into signing for a year.

It was all simple. And all Dwight's fault.

But yeah most of this may be unnecessary. There is nuthing people from Brooklyn like more than Brooklyn. Besides loyal Knicks fans, people from brooklyn would support that team no matter who plays on the team.

not sure how sign an trades work but wouldnt they be able to send Lopez to the Magic in return for Dwight? again im not familiar with how S&T's works

Why woukd the magic want Lopez at that point. You go into rebuild mode instead of paying Lopez which you woukd have to
