It'll be back. May take 2-3 years but he'll be back^FACTS
I watched cuz I was so hyped and it's been so long but just to see this Thurs there's no new eps.
While the 3 hrs were really good it ends in a way where you think it has to go on but for now no word.
If I were you I'd hold off until the next special.
Detective Chief Inspector John Luther is back on the case. BBC America has greenlit a fifth season of the acclaimed crime drama Luther. Series creator and writer Neil Cross has rallied Idris Elba back to reprise his role as the dark-minded detective, last seen in December 2015 in a two-episode miniseries.
Cross explained that the show certainly never felt resolved, and that Luther would never be finished hunting down evil in London. “It can’t be over, can it? There’s so much we don’t know. So much unfinished business,” he said in a statement. “In the end, we picked up the phone to some old friends and asked if they’d like to find out what happens next. It turns out, they would. So that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to find out what happens next.”
There’s no news on what “old friends” might be joining Elba for the new season, but the actor expressed his enthusiasm for a return to the character. “I am thrilled that we have been able to bring it all together. I look forward to putting the coat back on,” he said
Production will begin early next year on the four-episode fifth season; no premiere date has been announced. Elba can next be seen in August in the adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, and in November in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok.
