OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

What hurts with AR not being there was that he was our back up 3 this year,  played a bunch of 3 and we were WILDLY successful with him at the 3. Like better than our starting 5 with him at the 3.

If Luc gets in some foul trouble it could reallyyy hurt us.

When's he coming back

My first prediction for this series is that we will all grow to hate Rudy Gobert

Okay first quarter. Blake and DJ being aggressive while Rudy is out. Turnovers keeping them in the game.

CP needs to start being more aggressive offensively. And JJ needs to get yanked. Terrible so far.

CP3 needs to get waaaaaaayyyyyy more aggressive offensively.

Oh the clippers offense is struggling? Of course it is because JJ Redick is struggling lol

^^^ Pretty bad thing when our offense struggles because our defense just isn't all that great

Absolutely. But thats with a lot of teams. Offense dictating your defense.

Regardless, I really do hate how much we depend on JJ man. This is a prime example. No matter how great he is in the regular season, The DHO's and the pindowns won't work against playoff teams who put size and length on him. He really dictates what type of game it'll be for us.

Ugh. I can't say I'm surprised by the game tonight, but still frustrating.

Lmao Jamal Crawford man. Joe J literally ran right through him b.

All that winning at the end of the season just to hand HCA right back to the Jazz game 1. Sweet.

- Luc played 36 min and I still think he mayy have played 3 min too little. W/O Austin Rivers in the lineup right now, you gotta extend Luc to the max, especially if Gordon is going to play 40 min. For what it's worth. Luc and The Clips held Gordon to 19 pts on 7/18 from the field. They held the Jazz to 97 points. Defense wasn't the problem.

- The offense was the problem in game 1 and it reallyyyy has me worried. Anyone who follows the clippers in depth knows how important he is to what we do. JJ routinely struggles with length and size. (That's why we as a team struggle with Golden State) When JJ struggles, we struggles and the jazz aren't getting any smaller. This is where Austin Rivers is sorely missed. Someone who doesn't need pindowns, can shoot, get to the rim off the bounce, and defend. Could of had Austin + Luc down the stretch instead of Jamal and JJ.

So we'll see for game 2 and beyond if they can shake JJ free or not, and if Austin can get on the floor anytime soon. If not, you'll need super sayian efforts from CP and Blake to get this done, even without Rudy.

they actually got smaller when Gobert went down and it was their small ball that killed the Clips

they may have held Hayward to lower than his average but they made Joe Johnson look like an all star again

problems goes beyond the offense, their defense was terrible as well

I agree that both the offense and defense were a problem. Utah is one of the lower scoring teams in the league. "Holding" them to 97 points isn't really much of an accomplishment, especially in the playoffs when scoring tends to drop anyway. Also, it's not just how much they scored, but how they did it. We gave up a lot of easy buckets on back cuts, etc.

Oh, and what a surprise we lost a game that came down to the wire because, you know, that never happened during the season...

One game. Hopefully we win game 2 and get this thing back on track.

Every series we've won we've dropped one of the first two games so so far, this is par for the course lol

^^^ and we've gone on to lose series in which we won the 1st two games, so yeah, still a long way to go.

Looks like we may be getting a d league team next year

The Los Angeles Clippers are preparing to join the NBA Development League for the upcoming 2017-18 season, multiple league sources tell D-League Digest.

Originally, D-League Digest reported the team was expected to join the D-League for the 2018-19 season, but have since fast-tracked plans to have their own club for the next season.

The Clippers are looking to set up shop in Ontario, CA according to multiple league sources. The organization has a strong desire to play there, but are currently pending league approval.

If Ontario were to not work out, the backup option for the Clippers would be in Bakersfield, CA. The city was once home to a D-League team (Bakersfield Jam), but the Phoenix Suns purchased the franchise and subsequently moved them to Northern Arizona. Bakersfield was without a D-League team for the 2016-17 season.

The Clippers would be the 26th team to join the D-League fold, and the fourth addition for the 2017-18 season. The Memphis Grizzlies announced plans to own and operate their own franchise in Southaven, MS. The Milwaukee Bucks will own and operate their own franchise in Oshkosh, WI. The Atlanta Hawks will take over operations in Erie, PA with the BayHawks as the Orlando Magic move the franchise to Lakeland, FL. The Minnesota Timberwolves purchased the Iowa Energy and currently have not announced plans to move the team.

I'd for sure hit up the ontario games. Not the bakersfield joints though. I'm excited for this because given our draft pick status, this can be a great way to find some talent on the margins that could potentially help us in the present and near future. Teams like the Lakers, Spurs, etc. do great work in the d-league.

^^^ and we've gone on to lose series in which we won the 1st two games, so yeah, still a long way to go.
Well we can't do that now, so are you telling me this series is won and I should stop worrying

I'm ready for some postseason good luck for once. Let our opponents get bad calls, tweak hammy's, break fingers, tear ligaments. Why not?

It's happening :lol

-That ridiculous 3 Hill hit
-That Pahntom foul they called on DJ which led to 2 pts
-That tech after the Phantom foul which added another point

Really cost us.

Inwas watching th game with a female and when Crawford came in to end the 3rd I told her "#11 is gonna take every shot to end this quarter" he literary took every shot to end the 3rd lmfao. And then Doc left him in there till 1 minut left in th game. It was only fitting Iso Joe scored on him.

If we lose Game 2 I'll be concerned.
