OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2024-2025 SEASON THREAD

Yep, I'm with you. It's at that point. And i've been with team don't blow it up for the longest but the parts just don't fit, starting at the head.

Delly has outplayed CP3 in the 4th. That's where we're at...

Honestly, the team is looking a bit mentally checked out already. The effort tonight was sporadic at best. CP was pretty much terrible all game. Blake was a non-entity in the 1st half. Things are just ... off.

Time for a mini rant bros lol
Kind of glad we didn't win that game. Every win from here on out kind of prolongs the inevitable. It's almost like i'm ready to just skip to july 1st and blow this thing up. As far as the Ws and Ls are concerned, we really lost the season when we blew those games to BKN, Minnesota, Washington, Detroit, Dallas, Philly, etc. games that you are comfortably ahead in the 4th quarter, you have to have those. Every game matters, and all of those were pre AS break. Record looks completely different if you take half or 75% of those games.

But my real gripe is that I feel like this team is outdated, and probably should be reconstructed to be built around Blake Griffin (And CP) and not JJ redick, Deandre Jordan, etc. which I think they are now.

CP takes the ball out of blake's hands too much, JJ redick's floppy and DHO stuff brings blake away from the basket too often, Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin now look like complete misfits on both ends of the floor, Luc is luc, I mean, it just doesn't fit. Offensively, I think their biggest issue right now is the fact that they don't have that 1v1 guy that you can play through and demand a real double team and get to the line. That guy is Blake, but because of what I just said, you don't really see it. At the end of the day, I just don't think the parts work well enough tomorrow.

And defensively we suck. That's an entire rant within itself that I could go on, but yeah the league seems to have passed them by and the clips inability to win the games that they are supposed to win year in and year out has made me reevaluate things.

^^^ I'm with you man. Was thinking about a lot of the same stuff last night. And in some ways, the issues that have developed aren't anyone's "fault"; it's just a case of bad luck/timing. Our roster isn't ideally suited to the pace-and-space style of play, but that's what has become the paradigm in today's NBA. We're just not built to compete with teams that play that way at an elite level.

Blake and DJ didn't even make the trip to Denver for tonight's game. Denver is a tough place to play the 2nd of back-to-backs even under the best circumstances. Plus, the Nuggs have been playing well lately. So, if you were planning on watching, I suggest you find something else to do.

Then we have the Cavs on Saturday.

Good times.

^^^ Definitely in the realm of possibility. Only one game back in the loss column now.

smh lol

But From what I read denver has a lot of doubtful players playing tonight too?

Actually, I think I will watch the game tonight. I find myself enjoying the games more lately when my expectations are low.

I know we're severely undermanned tonight. But we just gave up a 44 point quarter ... to the Nuggets ...

...and we're equal with OKC on losses, as they washed the Raptors tonight. They have Sac next. We have the Cavs.

There is no real excuse to be tied with OKC but at the same time I know people are gonna act like blake and CP3 haven't missed like 40 games combined.

It's true, and maybe the season is completely different without those injuries, but the fact is we've been playing poorly even with both of them back. Even JJ said it last night - the team has been **** since the all-star break. His words. Also said the only thing he expects consistently from the team now is "terrible defense." LOL. The man has had it.

I mean, even before Blake and CP went out, we dropped the BKN game, the Detroit game where we were up in the 4th, the Washington game where we were up in the 4th, and before the AS break we dropped the dallas game on the HB game winner, the philly game where we were up 19 in the 3rd, The minnesota game here when we were up in the 4th,

These are games that injuries or not, we have to have. Championship teams keep these kinds of losses to a minimum. Coming into this season, those were games that I felt we couldn't afford to drop like we have in years past. CP and Blake being injured only amplified these games' importance.

We win most of those and we're okay right now. But whatever, it is what it is. On to the Cavs tomorrow

in the playoffs, everything is magnified, teams really tighten up the loose screws and play better basketball almost across the board. i swear, i wouldnt be as worried/frustrated as i am if the clippers were better on defense and on the glass NOW.

at the same time, the weaknesses that teams cant overcome are magnified as well.

i.e. okc's one man show
gsw lack of interior defense and clutch factor
LAC not having any offensive scheme or crunchtime player to rely on over 6 feet... etc etc

if we can fix this defensive brain fart we are having we may be able to make moves.

at this point, a 6 seed isnt really that bad. if we can beat the rockets in the 1st round and the spurs in the 2nd round (both of which are totally possible) this season can be salvaged.

next season, regardless of playoff outcome (outside of making the finals or winning a title) there needs to be a coaching change IMO. this team is no better today than it was the day vinny del negro was fired, and by that metric, a coaching change must be made. its been 4 years for crying out loud.

the core 3 arent going anywhere (IMO) blake has already expressed his interest in staying with LAC. where can CP3 go next year, start, and have a better shot at a title than LAC? SAS is the only spot i could see him landing. although that would be a good move for him, IMO it doesnt put him that much closer to a title than he already is now being that gsw is still top dog in the west. DJ isnt going anywhere. etc etc

No Lebbywinks, Myrie or K-Love tonight....and I'm still not feeling confident. Could easily see something absurd happening like Deron Williams time warping to 2005 form and Channing Frye hitting 14 threes.

Cavs +13 looking like easy money. Might put a couple hundo on it last minute [emoji]128064[/emoji]

What in God's green one is wrong with these dudes? Really looking like they touched the Monstar basketball half the time these days.

Well, I'm glad we are able to pull it together and get an easy W, but it doesn't really tell me much. Just a weird game with the Cavs sitting all their stars.

On to the next one.

Just gotta get into a rhythm heading into the playoffs and see how it go *Shrugs*

The optimist in me still believes that peak clippers is dangerous in the playoffs, but whatever.

If we can make up another game on Utah before that next matchup, I'll be a believer.
