Have you seen some of the cars these "sneakerheads" be driving around in. I don't know how it is in SoCal, but 'round here the kids you see lined up for the "hottest" sneaker are the ones hoppin out of a '96 Civic or Ford Escort. All that $$ they dropped on sneakers and they couldn't even get a decent whip. No balance in consumerism whatsover

One thing u must realize is there are 2 shoes in the pack. It's not just any release. Some may get a pack for retail but most won't. If you or anyone else wants them you better be dropping 1k+ on the pack. You will be lucky at this point to find a pack around $1,500.

so...wait...just because there are 2 pairs in the pack justifies the $2500 price hike that dudes are paying via feebay?

i was being polite when i said 1k. "sneakerheads" will drop 3k on this pack easy

dont get it twisted bro, my beef isnt with retail price on the box, its with bonehead consumers that value a particular sneaker soooo much that they will drop 500-5k above retail for it? but like ol' boy said, its not my money...so whoever is willing to drop the $, knock yourself out. it will never be me, i promise you that.

Isn't just shoes, houses here get gobbled up by rich people, who drive the market up, not letting us regular people buy.

whats funny and what anyone who is looking at purchasing the celebration pack for resale "value" is that these bonehead sellers have set the BIN amount based on last years pack. but this years pack, while "ultra-limited" abundant in direct comparison to last years pack.

this pack based on numbers alone shouldnt sell for more than $1300-$1500

thank yeezus for ID because i just wanted a red based elite X anyway.

dont get it twisted bro, my beef isnt with retail price on the box, its with bonehead consumers that value a paticular sneaker soooo much that they will drop 500-5k above retail for it? but like ol' boy said, its not my money...so whoever is willing to drop the $, knock yourself out. it will never be me, i promise you that.

Agreed, it'll never be most of us otherwise why would we go to the trouble we all go through to secure shoes at retail.

I insta clicked, 3 of the sizes were already sold out..got in line for a 12 and oos after a few mins. im pretty certain every pair was copped by a bot.

its the people who live close to the servers/have good internet/good pc/server and a fast script that win. im pinging ndc at like 200ms, if i have 1gb internet it doesnt matter ill still lose. if you live close to the server the latency is less so if you are going down the lines of a super computer make sure its based next to where the nike servers are hosted.

p.s **** nike if they do not sort this whole mess out.
Finally someone who understands.

So true, another very true factor is that "ebay" creates this false secondary market value which people think justifies some outrageous price.  I looked and someone just listed last years pack for 7k... yeah 7,000.00!!!

Problem is you will always have those top 4% of americans and multi-millionares in other countries who can buy whatever they want.  Those are the people buying these....your average middle class "sneakerhead" may have looked to get these to re-sell to upgrade their collection...but if I can't buy at retail....or a reasonable re-sell then they can keep them.

What people do with their money is their business, but soon NIKE is going to learn a huge lesson with these "limited" releases, it brings out the worst and exposes many people that not only work for them and their retail distributors but in consumers as well.

I look at the prices and say a roughly 540 investment to make 7 almost 10 times that is good all day every day, but the true re-sell value of these is being determined by a culture that is now built on hype and hype and more hype.  Even the minority that bought these to wear the average person wouldn't know what kind of shoes you have on unless your at a sneaker convention.

Solely a marketing ploy by NIKE to keep consumers thirsting for Lebron's shoes that are going to top over 500 million sales this year.

The argument can be made for what should or shouldn't be done with money til you're all blue in the face. At this point it's clear, I'd rather be the dealer than the user. If being a "Sneakerhead" means finding it acceptable to pay a 200% and up markup on a mediocre pack because of the absence of quantity then consider that my Betty Ford clinic. Not even sitting on a soap box or a shiny high horse but DAMN! At what point do you still have respect for yourself, doing back alley weirdness is now a staple for the "Sneakerhead".

But most of the time when I go pick up my shoes I'm driving my errand/drive around the city car :nerd:

Got a pack secured thankfully.

Hopefully there is a mudslide on Saturday so I can wear them.

So i noticed this was posted nearly two hours before the tweet for NTNY went out. Didnt you get yours from NTNY Mez? Now my question is how? im guessin employee hookup?

A quick FYI for those in the DMV.  I just stopped by Nike G'town to pick up my pack and noticed  on the check-in list the store only had 1 FSR (8-12, 13, 14).   At the time of pick up about 5 boxes were left behind the 1st floor register counter. If you wonder why so many ppl struck out, there you have it.

Seems a bit low for NikeDC in terms of a quantity.

Man I would have loved to DESTROYED an FSR there!

I can't stand that place!

I don't believe in wasting my time & I refuse to participate in any RSVPs. If I can't cop with minimal effort from a local spot..... I'm good.

same here. ill get up on saturdays and get what i need online but thats it.

I'm not going to lie, I've always thought it was a bit silly that some dudes go out of their way to wear "heat" to pick up shoes on release dates but what dude has on his feet is just terrible.

Nobody that has shelter should own shoes that dead.
Nah i completely agree, it's early as hell the only reason u there for is the release. I just put my roshes on lol.
So because it's early as hell means you can't put on some nice shoes?
