**Official Kendrick Lamar Thread 4th Studio Album ''DAMN.''Out Now**

He's speaking as if he's asking himself that question, he's not speaking for anybody else.

Drake's mixtape was released for free? I thought it was released on itunes

How does him speaking from personal experience make the statement better? What has kendrick seen in his neighborhood that's different than anybody else from that same neighborhood? I know kendricks isn't the most articulate person in the world but his response is kind of lazy. Gang violence is a function of poverty , mass incarceration and police brutality is a function of corruption and white supremacy. Theres no correlation at all.

This is what always irked me about his stance too, and the way he responded to the criticism on said stance when brought up on Hot 97 only irked me more.

Are these two problems? Yes. Is it hypocritical to feel one way about one and a different way about the other? Only if you strip down the issues to their barest level of both involving the loss of a life. But doing that ignores a large portion of what the problems are, and overlooks why someone may feel more strongly about one than the other.

At the end of the day though, I respect his willingness to speak up in a meaningful way through his art in general and accept that we'll probably just never see eye to eye on that one.

Wonder what video he'll be making next; I don't see him stopping with King Kunte.

Do we still say "quoted for truth" on NT?

When your THAT great of an artist with undeniable appeal and talent. People will buy your projects, regardless if they are leaked or not.

Murder is murder. How can he cry/feel sorry about a black man getting killed by a white person when he's about to go kill someone his own color..... All because they aren't a blood/killed his friend for being one etc etc etc

You can try to make it as deep and complex as you want to deny the truth in that but that statement should be said a lot more.

But ah We all see things differently

Haven't been in here since the album dropped. I'm pretty sure the ******* is still taking place.

Just wanted to note...the more I listen to the 2Pac interview...the less I believe the story about how Kendrick just happened to luck up and get that super exclusive audio from some ***** in Germany.

Yea, what Pac was saying didn't seem like answers to interview questions.  Dude was just going off.  Wasn't speaking to no German.  Papi, where you think he the audio is from?

In his Breakfast Club interview Kendrick says he got it from some German guy:

On the Tupac vocals for "Mortal Man":

"I got that when I was in Germany. This cat said, 'I got this unbelievable Pac interview, and he handed it off to me. I had to do my research. I had to see, is this official, first off. So I went through it, played it back a few times. You gotta get everything cleared. The trip is Pac was a prophet to me, and everything he's talking about is actually going on today. That right there just sparked the idea immediately for what I was talking about on my record. It was a blessing that I came about it, and I really appreciate his mother, too, for giving me the opportunity to use the vocals 'cause people hold them things dear. And if she would've stood down and said, 'No,' I would respect that, too. The respect that I have for her and her son's legacy because the things that he know, it comes from her. So either way it would've went, I would've shown respect. Period."

Boy you exposing yourself as a goofy on here lately.

Kendrick Lamar HIMSELF said it's an unreleased interview he got from someone in Germany.

I don't know bruh but that **** is creepy.

Even his tone doesn't sound like he's answering questions. It's like he was reading from a cue card.

Pac might be chillin in Cuba w/ his aunt Assata.

Like a good friend of mine says let's talk about the elephant in the room.  Who has the hottest release: K Dot or Drizzy?  These are two of the most listened to hip hop artist in music like Kobe vs MJ both in their prime.

With "If You're Reading This Its To Late" Drake does what Drake does and that's stay in his lane and make good music.  Nothing outside of what he usually does, just upgraded as expected, but you can't go wrong with catchy hooks, solid song concepts &  production.  I'm still not sure if its Drake official album or is it just a mixtape/something he put out just to get on through. Whatever the case its a good project.

Kendrick also did what he was expected to and that's make another audio movie.  Complete masterpiece.  K Dot crossed a boundary with To Pimp A Butterfly that major artists these days dare not to, & that's wage war against the oppressor.  Content and production wise as well.  To top it off it sounds totally different from GKMC just as GKMC differs from Section .80.

So in closing you can't compare the two albums because they're completely different artist, that make two different types of music.  I can say that Kendrick can do what Drake did (as far as the type of music he does) but I don't see Drake doing what Kendrick did.  Key words here are  I don't see it,  but that doesnt mean it cant be done.  Just like K Dot dont wanna do club type music, Drake may just not want to make music like that....what u think

This album is sooooo dope.

My cousin and I had this on blast at our campsite up at Wanee Music Fest last weekend.

Any reactions from others?
Nah. Occasionally cats would walk by and bounce a little to it. We camp in roughly the same spot every year and we've been bringing that hip-hop vibe for six years now, so out neighbors know what to expect. There's a lot of room where we're at so it's not obnoxiously loud to our neighbors either. People are really just happy to see other people vining out enjoying mother nature and music. It's an amazing festival.
