Official Jazz thread

Yo Sinner P, that vid says its not playable in this region (assuming here in the states).
Oh? Region-blocked in the US???

Take 2.

For the Breaking Bad fans.

Wow, Beyonce dropped out of Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star Is Born citing scheduling issues & Esperanza Spaulding is being considered for the role 8o...

Shimrit Shoshan - Chamsa

^ Not familiar with her, but that's such a shame.  RIP

Never saw A Star is Born either... how many remakes have there been?

I think there have been three movies. One in the 30's, one in the 50's starring Judy Garland, & one in the 70's starring Barbara Streisand & Kris Kristofferson. Did anyone know Kris Kristofferson was a Rhodes Scholar? LOL....

Glad to see you in here from time to time DT43 & thanks for the rep. They new Glasper EP is nice. Enjoy it...He's coming to Bmore tonight at Rams Head but I can't go. My god daughter's birthday is tonight....

More from Glasper. Becoming more of a Solange fan everyday.
This is also my favorite track from Little Dragon.

:{ :x :( goddamit why didn't i see this earlier.. i woulda been in there smh. fortunately i'll be in nyc in dec, i'll try to catch him then.

was never up on keith jarrett like that but someone showed this to me the other day.. this is one of my favorite ballads and he just kills it. easily one of the best live performances i've seen:

Bebel Gilberto - Night & Day

Nice bossa nova cover of the Cole Porter classic...

Maxwell - Seguranca

I know this ain't jazz, but since we're on the bossa nova tip, here's a little known Maxwell doing the bossa nova...Off the Red, Hot, & Rio tribute from '96.

Amel Larrieux + Clark Terry - Sophisticated Lady

Another gem from the Red, Hot series. This time the Red Hot & Indigo CD from 2001. I'm crazy in love with Amel Larrieux's voice...A little too much vibrato here but her voice is still sublime...

^ That was great. The Japanese are really into jazz... lots of great Japanese jazz musicians.

Amel Larrieux's got a great voice, but I see what you're saying about her vibrato. Not really saying that it's "too much" but rather, "too frequent" I guess... almost a trembling-sound.  Has a bit of a Stacey-Kent quality to it...

Anyway, more piano...

Sir George...

Duke Ellington - In A Sentimental Mood

I love's Duke's version with Coltrane, but since everyone is in a piano mood, here he is with a trio...

Sleepwalker (ft. Yukimi Nagano/Little Dragon) - Afloat & Wind

Posting again just because I love Yukimi Nagano...She just has that je ne sais quoi...

Ryo Fukui - Early Summer, Autumn Leaves, Mellow Dream, & Early Summer

Another Japanese jazz musician I like...This guy is fire...

Renee Olstead is working on a new album. I can't find her single on youtube or anywhere to post. But I heard it on Spotify
It's called, "She's got your name" I like it, listened to it a few times in a row
