Since Jay is already (technically) assured a platinum album, I wonder if this will give him more room in the creative process of the album? It would be nice to see him not have to stick to a formulaic record (ex. one "club song", a "street song", etc.)

Either way, I am excited to see what comes from this process. Hopefully all the people shown in the commercial can bring their A+ game.

I expect this to be what the Blueprint was to rap in 2001 based off of the title & the commercial. You hear him say that new rules must be set and if the definition of magna carta is any indication of what the albums goal will b..... then hov is about to kill alot of the repetitive **** going on.

The real magna Carta was used too try and weaken the authority and power of kings and make him take heed to what the people wanted.... In a music sense i think Ye & Jay-Z are both setting themselves up to kind of take music back into there own hands.

Has it occured to anyone that maybe they just don't want that Premo sound anymore.... they did it decades ago and got classic results why would they want to go back and do it again.... because in those cases ya'll are just going to sit back compare it to past Premo records and complain about it not being as good as a Classic track from 20 years ago.

Personally, I don't need a new Jay-Z album. And I don't think Jay-Z needs to make a new album. But why the hell not? He's free to make music until he's old and gray. And I'm free to listen or not listen. If its hot I'll praise it. If it's trash I'll pan it. But the whole apathy towards Jay's success is fascinating to me. We want artists to be successful...until they're successful. From those that try to knock him musically, to those that try to knock his business acumen. Clearly the guy is doing a lot of things right. More power to him. Reading those ATrak tweets are just weird to me. There has to be a story now to strike a deal that benefits you and the company with which your dealing? Lol. How about its just fantastic business sense? Yeah man shame on him for being the most marketable rapper out there and using his marketability as a means to promote himself. He should just drop an album on a random Tuesday and not tell anyone about it. This is pure hate right here, people do stuff like this ALL THE TIME. How does this different from talk show appearances, commercials, street teams, or any other form of promotion other than the size of the platform. Hes allowed to do things like this because his name carries that much weight. I would also like to see him push the envelope in terms of the music that hes going to make but like I've said before I have no problem with the luxury rap that hes been putting out recently. Either way its going to be fire so I'll be fine.
