it's the whole let's wear band tee's of people we never heard of in our life
just because the shirts look pretty
I thought that's the entire point of wearing clothes, because they look
"pretty". I didn't know you have to actually be an avid supporter or even
have knowledge of whatever graphic may be on your shirt wether it be a
rock band or an actor/actress or maybe even a politician/revolunationist.
Sure it would be nice to know, but necessary.. I think not. God knows I
have a few shirts where I don't even know who the hell is on it. I just
bought it because I liked the graphic and as stated previously I always
thought that's the point of fashion, to wear what YOU like. Maybe things
have changed though.. who knows?
And another thing, I think you guys are worrying about the next man a little
too much. Jay-Z said it best when he said, "What you eat don't make me @#%$."
JayJay91:
you wear clothes because you have to. but let's put it this way, would you
wear a "save darfur" shirt because the brown matches perfectly with your
new shoes, without knowing the story behind it? i would hope not. i'm
saying there's many shirts out there they could have chosen that has
green, black, red, and white in it, but they mostly like chose that particular
shirt because it's the "in" thing. yea, it's ok to wear what you like unless
the only reason you like it is because everyone else does. that's the whole
purpose of this thread, of this whole hypebeast thing.
i don't know, i just think this way because i don't appreciate people wearing
bob marley shirts without at least listening to one of his songs. i feel if
you're going to wear a band tee, at least listen to the band.
I honestly could careless if a person would rock a "save darfur" shirt
even if they weren't familiar with the story behind it, just like I wouldn't
care if an atheist rocked a "Jesus Is My Homeboy" shirt. It's just a shirt,
as long as it's not offensive (though I am guilty of wearing offensive
shirts from time to time, and that's just because I'm an @#%$-hole) to
others it really shouldn't matter, should it? The fact we are discussing it
right now is quite ridiculous in it's own right. But as stated, fashion is
just that... fashion.

^ I think he meant to say white dudes who rock pac shirts and baggy jeans actually listen to rap...when's the last time you saw a ghetto dressed white guy listening to billy crystal?
But these "rockstar" black guys listen to southern cRap, not the rock music. IE. dipset, wayne, shopboyz etc...
ed the whole "rockstar" movement right? it's just like how the pack got ghetto people wearing vans, which have typically been something white people/skaters wear. not trying to be racist either, so don't even try to take it that way..we all know that's the truth. i see plenty of emo kids around my way wear extra smedium tupac shirts, bandanas out of their back pockets, etc. but i could bet that they listen to dashboard confessional.

in that case, protest the whole thread instead of my statements.

i read that. i know you posted that. i mean why don't you write paragraph or
two on the subject instead of sneaking it in at the bottom.
Umm.. if you feel like I have singled you out or I'm attacking you, that was
never my intentions and I apologize. I just felt the need to respond to your
reply due to the fact that is one of my pet peeves for reasons I have
already stated. It's nothing personal or anything of that nature. And to be
honest, I've only skimmed through about three pages of this thread
(starting from the last page on) and it just so happened your reply stuck
out to me. Once again, it's nothing personal...
