Yea. It really is when you look at the music for what it is and not some pseudo-rational angle that analyzes everything but the music itself.
Inside the Mattress is one of my favorite Future songs ever. Seven Rings and Lie To Me are probably on their way there as well. The three worse songs from EVOL/PR might be better than the three single worst songs from 56 Nights/BM/Monster.
My biggest issue with the very few dudes like you who claim Future fell off, he sold out, the music isn't the same, etc is I've never once seen anybody even attempt to articulate why the music isn't the same quality. There's never any actual reasoning.
Preach.
Truthfully, EVOL & Purple Reign are literally....right in line with 56 Nights/Monster/Besst Mode. Content, production, sonically, even arrangement. If these tapes dropped in Jan & Feb of 2015.....dudes would hail it and put it right up there with the 3peat.
While I enjoy WATTBA, and it's opened future up to a larger fan base.....it's also hurt Future in a sense, because he isn't seen as the underdog anymore. He's the go to guy for hits again....the one they can blame the downfall of hip hop on. The one that "sold out" or "fell off".....when in reality....he gave us at least 4 quality projects in a calendar year....a spur of the moment collab tape....and here we are now.
Nothing has changed. People just WANT to be tired of Future now. It is what it is. Imma see it for what it really is, than try to bs analyze it for no reason.
If you sit here and listen to Never Forget, Zanny Family, Wicked, Lil Hati Baby, Lie to me, Fly Sht Only, Inside the mattress, Perkys Callin.....and come away with the conclusion that this guy has fallen off or changed, then you're lying to yourself.
Edit*: Also, I feel like the fans that were brought over from WATTBA are fickle...and follow popular opinion. They only got to see about 2 sides of Future on WATTBA. And if they don't hear THAT Future....then to them, he fell off. These fans are the most vocal.
Then you got the I been a day one fan since before WATTBA crowd that have it set in their minds that Future went pop again. Even if the evidence is to the contrary
