Serious question. Don't attack me Future Hive.

When did Future start getting this popular. This DS2 has a lot of buzz around it at least in the social media realm.

I started listening to him a few months ago probably this winter, and it started with the Monster mixtape, so I'm curious when did his popularity grow this large and what caused it? The 3 mixtapes?

Feels like an out of nowhere explosion for a guy that's been in the game for a bit.

Started with the release of Monster, grew bigger with each tape after that.

That's what I thought. How did Monster as a mixtape become so successful. I legit just stumbled upon it as a suggestion on youtube.

It's nice to see a guy get successful so organically.

Honest didn't really resonate as well with his fanbase. Personally I thought it was a great album but a lot of his fans were disappointed with the more poppy/mellow direction.

Monster went back to the roots and gave us those hard street tracks.

Monster went back to the roots and gave us the prime Future we want.

After the first listen through, it's what I expected. This is a future album but this isn't a sequel to dirty sprite. This is an album where future didn't auto tune a lead club single or tried different sound, this is an album where he's commercialized his sound. There are no real stand out tracks to me. I like "rotation" and "groupies", "I thought it was a drought" and "I serve the bass" are cool but then I cringe listening to "rich sex". That feature with drake is eh. A couple zaytoven beats like "know the meaning" but this ain't it. I'm not even gonna try and trick myself into believing it. Maybe a couple more listen throughs and I'll have a change of heart

But this album IS NOT better than the 3 hot mixtapes he dropped on us and IS NOT better than legendary 3 known as Dirty Sprite, True Story or Streets Calling. He shoulda called this album something other than dirty sprite 2. Album isn't even in the same breath as Dirty Sprite 1

I came in to echo that ^

This album is straight, but his 3 mixtapes prior to this album are way better, IMO.
