Yea Vini has definitely started getting that Neymar Ligue 1 treatment this season
Refs seemingly allow it too basically making it seem like sanctioned punishment for playing expressively.
The whole thing of that sort of thing trying to get beaten out of the game is why I rock with Brazilian or other South American players so much. They tend to still play with that childlike joy/flair and rarely forget it no matter how much it might offend others sensibilities in European leagues.
Elsewhere football is uber regimented now and you're trained to be as risk averse with the ball as possible so you don't see players trying outside of the box things with the ball as often. Dribbling/possession with the ball gets bypassed altogether in favor of quick rehearsed passing and maintaining play patterns.
Feels a lot more systemic/robot like compared to the improvisational artistry of the greats of the past that made people fall in love with the game worldwide.
