Would honestly be better to go on without the co sign in a guy like makonnen case because he can't tour and do shows with that song without drake. He took son whole flow and cadence. Makonnen perform that song, people gonna look confused like who is this and where is drake. Kodak was smart, why let him be the face of your song and make money off of u then 6 mths later u roght4 back to where u are before him. There always a gift and curse to having one of your songs suddenly just blow up.

The main problem I see for the artists with the Drake **** is the poor conversion rate of fans from Drake to whatever artist song he hops on and the 1 Hit Wonder type "expectations" that get placed on the artists afterwards 


After Versace cooled off and Fight Night didn't really gain steam _'s was quick to say Migos fell off strictly off the fact that they couldn't follow up to a smash with a feature/push from the biggest rapper in the game

Like what did you _'s really expect? These aren't billboard top 10 hit making ****** and that's completely fine. You can still have a nice successful career and tour without making radio hits and having your name plastered everywhere but that's sadly that's not how a lot of rap fans see it. If you not on the blogs or radio 20x a day you broke, irrelevant, and fell off.


So the **** ends up being a set up. _'s wait for the follow up smash (because that's what decides if you'll have a successful career or not ) and when it doesn't come you' a one hit wonder and they on to the next artist. How many Drake/Versace fans still bumping Migos today?

Same thing with Makonnen. Tuesday was 2 years ago. This _ linked up with Diplo and Carnage and was doing festivals all last year (reason why he wanted to lose all the weight) and is about to go overseas with G-Eazy this year. But to majority of people outside of his fanbase demographic he already done, has no "hits", etc

Instead, he waited it out and now No Flocking, Skrilla and SKRT are pretty big club songs at least in the South and his brand is only growing.

People on Twitter yesterday were putting his arrest next to Prince's death as to why yesterday was a bad day . Look up 'kodak prince' query on Twitter if you care that much.

there's a big difference between your song buzzing on mixtapes and clubs into legit being a real HIT record, there's no doubt that Drake doing the feature helps that immensely. The only time a drake feature has "hurt" an artist is when said artist can't follow up... Migos, Future, Fetty all have either remained relevant or have continued to put out more and more hits afterwards & none of them are considered guys Drake put on.

& honestly it's not snake **** because him doing the song is now giving u a spotlight to show a mass audience what you bring to music. Hell the fact that he's asking these artist permission is actually pretty fair considering the ***** could just straight up do an unofficial remix like most rappers and completely **** up any chance of the OG song blowing
