When I browse comic forums and sites the comment section is usually filled with hate for JR JR. It's so incredibly blatant how bad his art has become at times. Like I said though, it's weird nobody minds it for Kick-%#% but this AvX event did not have the right choice for artist.

I never ever liked JR JR art. It's horrible. Dont know how the guy keeps getting work let only big projects.

I just started reading comics on my ipad.
I just have a few questions about reading order and such.
is this correct:
avengers:disassembled ----> house of m -----> civil war ----> secret invasion

are there any other comics i should read? I am open to anything

Saw the Avengers, and even as a comic book "elitist" I loved it. I appreciate the fact that they didnt deal too much with background story (because they usually butcher it)

my only problem is (highlight to read, i dont know how to create spoilers)

If Thanos is going to be the villain in the next movie, what will they do with Hawkeye, Black Widow and Captain America? In the Marvel U there is a very short list of people who are even remotely in the same league as Thanos, ie: Adam Warlock, Galactus, Phoenix, Silver Surfer at his peak, The Beyonder, and maybe a couple others. I can see Thor, Hulk and Iron Man fitting into the story, but the scale becomes a little too big for the other heroes. Also, if you are going to do a Thanos story, you HAVE to include ATLEAST the Silver Surfer

I feel it's mainly cuz of his father JR SR. He was/is a pretty famous artist cuz he worked with Stan Lee, Ditko, Kirby and the other big names back in the early days of Marvel. So the son takes up the same profession and cruises for a while. JR JR had an okay run in the 90s but his art today has evolved in to crap.

idk about the 2011-12 one, but the 1995 version is one of the greatest works in comics IMO

You have to consider that Avengers 2 is atleast 4-5 years away from being in pre-production. Given that time, Marvel will re-acquire the movie rights to Daredevil and Fantastic Four. Silver Surfer is part of the Fantastic Four movie line, so he would be eligible to appear in the film. Also, Kevin Feige said that Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch are eligible to appear in Marvel made movies.  I am being optimistic that Marvel will re-acquire hopefully Spider-Man or X-Men. But it's a long shot.

Hulk just started a new comic book. You could check that out. There's a free Avengers #1 at your local comic book where the Avengers re-group with a new set of team members.
Tecca nena: I read Invincible, probably is one of my favorite comics after reading all the trades up to the latest issue.

Thanks for the help guys.
Also I been getting into Walking dead and chew are there any other cool comics like that?
Any new ones and what not?
Thanks

'95 version of course. Long as hell when I look back at the issues though. The one now is just them revisiting that universe after X-Force visited the place recently last year.

For Batman I'd say just read the classics since I'm not up on this new 52 line they've started.

I'd say read Dan Slott's run on Spider-Man, think it starts at issue 650: Big Time.

I have to keep this thread alive.
Just bought the AvX comics il read later
I heard Thief of thieves is cool so I bought those.

Anyone care to tell me what Invincible is about? Been hearing great things.

A kid whose dad is an alien comes to earth and becomes a superhero, when the kid is a teenager he gets powers and becomes a superhero too. From there it's the typical crime fighting, teen angst, relationships, drama, working with the gov't, fighting the gov't, adventures in space, stopping an alien invasion, etc.

To me it's just good and you gotta read a lot of issues to get invested in to it but there's some cool stuff to follow and keep your interest when you do get in to it.

I'm digging the return of Valiant Comics, the first issue of X-O Manowar was pretty good. It made me dig up all my old copies from the original run and all the stuff from back when Shooter was in charge of the company has held up well. It did make me wish BWS still drew for public consumption.

Definitely have to bookmark this thread

Just started working in downtown Berkeley and always find myself gravitating towards Half-price Books and Fantastic Comics on my lunchbreaks. Usually try to look for whatever folks in here recommend.
