OFFICIAL COMIC BOOK THREAD

The Amazing Spiderman! hands down,
than again batman has great villians. and the whole new 52 comics go, also a vs. x
ultimate spiderman, ninja turtles, wolverine, and a bunch of kid comics are dope also, i really like collecting comics, it's a substitute for shoes when i don't have money for them.
i agree.  Thanks what i like about comics is that there only a few bucks.

i want to get into the hulk story. what are some good story lines/series to get start with?

def recommend the "Spider-Men" [5-issue miniseries] to any Spidey fans out there. really cool seeing Peter Parker & Miles Morales interact with each other in this alternate reality (Peter shows Miles his web shooter mechanisms that he designed himself) & you get to see some of Miles' additional powers too (he was bitten by a different spider than Peter)

Alright question: I just finished reading Batman: Hush and

So Catwoman now knows Batman is Bruce Wayne. Does this ever come in to play later on?

I have a confesion... last week I went to Barnes and Nobles and got about 30 something comics... I was so excited that I finally found all the gaps in my series (Especially Justice League) so I just walked out :| by the time I realized I didn't pay I was already home .... and I didn't care! :smokin

^ as someone who just had a terrible experience with B&N ordering Batman paperbacks a little over a week ago, that puts a smile on my face

I go to barnes and nobles, devote 2 hours each week and read all the magazines and comic books i like and never buy anything....

I want to read a Nova or a Taskmaster comic :smokin
Wait for Marvel Now. I assume by Jan. or Feb. the Nova comic will be starting. The Marvel Now Point One one shot will hold you over cuz it has prelude story in it about Nova before the solo starts.

It won't be the Richard Ryder Nova though, so if you're familiar with him you'll have to wait for how he has been revived to be revealed.

Went to a comic store in Santa Monica randomly, thought of this thread so I picked up

The fan-favorite anti-hero from AVENGERS: INITIATIVE explodes into his own mini-series! Taskmaster has trained hench-thugs for every terrorist organization and criminal cartel in the Marvel Universe. So when the rumor starts that he's turned traitor and now works for STEVE ROGERS, a billion-dollar bounty is put on his head, and every cadre of costumed fanatics -- A.I.M., Hydra, Ultimatum, the Sons of the Serpent, everyone -- looks to collect. Now Taskmaster has to fight hordes upon hordes of his psychopathic students while at the same time figuring out who framed him -- which requires him figuring out who he really is! That's right, the man with the photographic reflexes has no memory of his true identity -- and you'll learn the unexpected truth along with him! The action-packed SECRET ORIGIN of Taskmaster begins here, courtesy of New York Times bestselling writer Fred Van Lente (AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, INCREDIBLE HERCULES, MARVEL ZOMBIES) and acclaimed artist Jefte Paolo (DOCTOR VOODOO)!

^ there are issues #0 - 12 currently out for Avengers vs. X-Men and due to the popularity of the series, some issues have up to 6 printings out. you can buy some of them HERE

a variant cover is a special cover with different art from the original newsstand/direct edition of a comic. kinda like the holographic/gold/rookie cards you'd get 1 of in like every 5 Upper Deck packs back in the day. variants are randomly placed in shipments of comic books sent to stores (some online stores will let you preorder them though for $20+ because they know how many they're getting if they order 50+ issues of a comic). the ratios of them can very from 1 of 15 to 1 of 100; sometimes higher. if you can get your hands on em, keep em bagged & boarded after you read them

I'll have to post a pic of my Deadpool variant covers in here one day
