ESPN Chris Sheridan: Melo steadfast in recent conversations with Nuggets brass that he will only sign with Knicks
As I reported last month, Anthony has made it known to the Nuggets that if he is traded, he will not sign his $65 million contract extension with any team other than New York. The source said Anthony has steadfastly maintained that stance in his recent discussions with Nuggets officials, despite the Nets being told that Anthony would sign the extension with them if he is traded to New Jersey.

Another league source said Knicks officials were perturbed to hear that Anthony was being told they were "dragging their heels" in their efforts to acquire Anthony.

Thats exactly what I was saying earlier. Den is trying to play mind games wit Melo telling him that NY dont want him because they are butt hurt that he's leaving and they dont wanna give him the money AND the team he wants. So they playin mind games wit him to try and force him into NJ. Its grimey and I hope Melo comes str8 out in an interview and is like F this %@$# im only signing with NY point blank period. Its not like he strung them along. Sounds like Melo has been str8 up with them from day 1, and they jerkin him around like some D-leaguer hoping for a 10 day contract.

And as for the Fantasy comment, yea I have someone in my league who never sets his lineup and just recently offered me Devin Harris for Amare. C'Mon Son!!

^ I don't know how I missed Clutch's unicorn reply. First reply after the mini-article about Blake was posted in here.

Seems like Melo's been getting bad advice for years. Signs a 4-year deal when Bosh, LeBron and Wade were smart enough to sign 3-year deals...and now it seems like he's desperate to sign a new deal thinking the new CBA is going to cost him some serious money when in all likelihood he's gonna be amongst the highest paid players in the league regardless of old CBA or new CBA.

It depends what a max contract is worth under the new CBA because someone with enough cap room will offer him one (like the Knicks). If Joe Johnson can get a max contract then Melo will also get one

The new CBA will more than likely be in favor of the owners, so I would think he's risking at least $15-20 million.
