I like to grill direct and flip until I get the desired char I want on each side and then finish indirect. How do you guys usually grill wings? Like what kind of dry rub? Over direct heat the whole time?

If you use a Weber or Weber style grill, I highly recommend using a vortex for wings. You get that crispy grilled wing every time. Simply season with olive oil and your favorite rub, and place the wings in a circle around the vortex. How do you guys usually grill wings? Like what kind of dry rub? Over direct heat the whole time?
I let them dry out on a rack in the fridge overnight then an hour before cooking I’ll cost them in ~4:1 rub:corn starch. Then I cook indirect on a Kamado for an hour at around 400. Always a perfect crisp level. How do you guys usually grill wings? Like what kind of dry rub? Over direct heat the whole time?
