No one ever claimed the black parts are top notch. Its the orange and cream parts that are top notch. Everyone knows the black parts are the thing that sucks about SBBs

Chicago style tongue tag (paint the trim leather green, and the toe white. done)
Bred style toe and heel (paint the side panel black, and the swoosh green. done)
Black toe style swoosh and trim leather (paint the toe white. done)
All major colorblockings are now represented in one colorway somehow
Customizer's dream. Super versatile with minimal work. The tag is huge for green chi customs. (Id still rather have black with green logo)

Purps seem cool on paper. On foot might it might be too much of a good thing is what Im predicting.
I wouldnt kick them out of bed though. Both colors are actually my 2 exact lifelong favorite colors.
I'll be satisfied if I end the year sitting on Pines, Clays, Shadows, and Wotherspoons. Concords are starting to become passable and the purple 1s are a game time decision. Really really wish my size existed in size? safari am1s.
97/1s are in possession, Clays are prob getting ordered tomorrow, shadows are next if Pines dont come first. Thats my goal. I dont see much more coppable gear releasing. But regardless, they really nailed my dream jordan 1 colorways this year. Always wanted army green, always wanted celtic green. Now its reality. Crazy

man those safari 1s needed to have a wider release...spoons are shoe of the year for me. i was just about to pull the trigger for resale, but nike blessed me with exclusive access. been my summertime daily.
as far as jays, my must-haves this year were bc3s, shadows, hgg13s, and concords. copped bred toes cuz i thought they were really clean and grabbed game royals cuz i been waitin for a blue chicago. bought those 2 even though the plan was to stick to og colorways...thats why i’m a gametime decision on pines and purps, but i really dig em. also still hopin that purp metallic rumor holds weight for this year.
i agree, they did a good job with releases this year and off white really helped nike as a brand pick up steam while boost was losin their grip.

Keep in mind when this assessment is being made, it’s only in comparison to other Jordan 1’s. Don’t act like people are believing that these are on par with high-end leather shoes that go for double or triple the price.

I can never do b/red toes. They just seem off to me even on IG or when I see them in the wild. I think the SBB colorblocking should be for colors that aren't on too many 1s. Greens & Purps are on my hit list for that. I got 4 pairs of red 1s all og colorways. I don't need a 5th red pair for sure.

eventually sure...look at barons and new loves. what i think holding them back from full value potential is the piss quality that alot came with...my pair feels like plastic. saw them in store a couple weeks later and the display shoe was better, but still very ok-ish.
