^would be awesome. Although. I am not sure he made a good move with this last trade.

Looks like we'll be getting Asdrubal Cabrera from the Tribe. Not bad and Pagan and Belt are supposed to be back within 2 weeks. Reinforcements are on the way guys.

^ I haven't heard anything about us being close to a deal for Cabrera. Most I heard was there was interest and a little discussion.

Word is we are talking to the Rangers about Alex Rios, "ongoing discussions"

On the bright side, Gerardo Parra and Chris Denorfia are out of the NL West

sabes and owners probably said amongst themselves "2 world series is good enough"

i think they didn't want to deplete whatever was left in the farm. they're really banking on pagan and belt coming back soon and producing.

the worst decision this organization has made in the last couple years that nobody talks about is getting rid of the bow tie bill neukom. ownership wasn't happy with the large amounts of money he was investing in scouting, minor leagues, player development, etc.

the reason we won those world series is because we scouted, drafted and developed the right players(pitchers carried us). eventually everything will dry up down there and then the only means to compete will to go dollar for dollar with the dodgers which is a inevitable loss.

i still remember the "rainy day fund" line. ha! what a joke.

to follow up on that last post i made
Neukom's own falling-out with the Giants' executive committee, say the baseball sources, began over how to spend the additional millions that flowed into team coffers following the World Series championship...
Neukom, it is said, believed that this was his money to spend as he saw fit -- and he did so, to increase payroll and buy new technology for the baseball department, among other expenditures. Instead, the executive committee allegedly wanted the money to be put in a "rainy day fund" for use in leaner times.
Neukom back in 2008
We want to be contending as soon as possible. We want to be the sort of franchise that puts a contending major league team on the field game in and game out, and affords its community and fan base a contending team year in and year out. And how we’re going to do that is by emphasizing and investing even more in homegrown talent. We have to find the best baseball athletes we can find, through better scouting and better analysis of the amateur draft.
people quickly forget what it was like before neukom took over and implemented his business philiosphy to baseball(ie spend within to win).

sabes is a master at signing over the hill vets like marquis grissom, no player development, trading for bums like sidney ponson, etc. i feel like were headed back there.
