I'm pissed that the federal government didn't halt mortgages. Alot of businesses and home-owners would be in better shape right now had something like that would have been put in place. There was a half-*** plan to lend money so small businesses to help them stay afloat(which ultimately wasn't regulated like it should have been), but there was nothing in place to help homeowners or even renters other than a measly $1200 check and 3 months of unemployment with $600 bonus.

I've never pretended to know who out of all 500+ members of congress is working hard, or what they're working on (although sadly I imagine there are more than a few Republicans working to either directly or indirectly destroy black and brown lives).
But unlike you, I have the ability to think critically and with nuance. But go ahead and play ya position as a barrel bottom scraper. You probably should be extra discontent.
Shoutout Rep. Barbara Lee of California's 13th congressional district. I got nothing but respect for that woman. When she's on "vacation," it's the best time to tap in and get exposed to what she's been doing, and hear what she thinks the next course of action should be.

This comment isn't meant to critique any NT member, and is not a critique on any particular political party. I think many people think like this, regardless of party. I just want us to consider another viewpoint.
People working right now, putting their lives in danger, and not getting paid enough are getting a raw deal. But if you're angry at the people staying at home getting unemployment, I implore you to consider a different perspective. You ARE underpaid. You ARE underappreciated. But the people at home aren't the ones doing that to you. You DESERVE more, and frankly should DEMAND more. Just remember who is undervaluing you. It's not people staying at home.
The fact is, people at home are saving lives. Everyone that is not essential SHOULD be home. So instead of getting mad at them, get mad at the people in power who don't pay you what you deserve, who don't protect you. Billionaires are making hundreds of millions, if not billions, during the pandemic. And that's fine (as long as it's not clearly unethical like price gouging), I'm not against that, I'd like to be rich one day. But if you don't have enough, why get mad and want to take away the scraps given to other non-rich people? Our wealthy need to step up. If you think capitalism is great, that's fine. But open your eyes. It's not PERFECT. People do not earn exactly what they deserve. Do you? I've never, for one second in my life, felt I've earned what my production is worth. The rich make the laws and systems in place, so they make too much while the majority of our country makes too little. The system is set up that way. Look at insurance - tying insurance to employment means we have to put up with being underpaid or underappreciated at work, because our healthcare is on the line. Companies know this and take advantage of us. Something like healthcare for all would help the majority of people (let's say, over 75%). That should be a no brainer, but unfortunately we get tricked into thinking this is "socialism" and thus "bad." That's insanity. Do you know what's actually bad? Insurance companies, which are businesses interested in maximizing profit. That doesn't make sense when dealing with our health. Life or death decisions are being made for us depending on what's best for the wealthy, not what's best for the majority of the country. If it's not obvious right now, during this global pandemic, then I don't know what to tell you.
It's time we wake up - everyone, democrats republicans independents - and stop voting against our best interests just because of our political affiliation. Stop fighting each other. We're ALL getting a raw deal. This shouldn't be a political battle, it should be a class battle. We have the numbers to force a more fair system, but we're so uneducated that we get tricked into fighting each other instead.
