OFFICIAL 2020 STIMULUS CHECK THREAD

Welp, the GOP is gonna propose a new even smaller stimulus bill in the coming weeks. Which will NOT include anymore stimulus checks

So to keep track:

Dems passed a 3 trillion stimulus bill. That included the full $600 a month, another round of checks, money for states, the Post Office, schools and other things.

The Senate and White House wanted something around 1 trillion

The Dems then said they would split the difference and would do a 2 trillion

The White House demand only a 1 trillion dollar deal, and walks away from the talks

The GOP now is proposing to a bill around 500 billion dollars. With the unemployment benefits being at around $300-$400 a week.
soooo
how long before the revolt happens????
before or after the election???

Smaller bill to get more republicans on board who werent united on their initial bill. They went lower because reps dont wanna spend **** but they know and are prepared for dems to negotiate it up.

Small glimmer of hope.

The woman that passed a second stimulus check months ago, that wanted to compromise on a bill weeks ago to get people checks, who is NOT the member the party who is about to propose a new proposal without stimulus checks included is to blame?

Take your MAGA hat off

with those eviction protections expiring, most people only get 30-60 before the sheriff comes knocking.

In the absence of any national ban on evictions during the pandemic, tenants struggling to pay their rent are at the mercy of a patchwork of narrow and temporary local protections.

In Maryland, Missouri and Ohio, meanwhile, there’s no statewide or local bans on evictions at all.

“Piecemeal policies within a state set up renters to have very different outcomes during the pandemic by virtue of their ZIP code,” said Emily Benfer, an eviction expert and visiting professor of law at Wake Forest University.

The federal eviction moratorium in the CARES Act, which was passed in March and banned evictions in properties with federally backed mortgages or where tenants receive government-assisted housing, expired at the end of July.

gonna be a cold world when folks can´t do Halloween for the kids then end up evicted for the holidays.

...I don´t understand what they expect here, this is precisely how you get [redacted].

Things will never change in this country as long as politicians are wealthy. Majority of politicians already had tons of money before being elected or get elected and make "connections" that allow them to become rich. They don't care about the struggles of the common citizen.

Cant find a job in your field because a lot of businesses closed or don't have money to hire anyone? Oh well. Go get a minimum wage job and work 70 hours a week

Running low on money because you've dipped into your savings for 6 months? Too bad. Should've budgeted better.

You've paid thousands and thousands of dollars of taxes in your life for roads that are never improved, public transportation that you don't use, and cops who treat you like garbage? Yeah well that's gone now because we spent it....but you'll be alright.

Brings me back to when posters like tr1ll tr1ll told us "I hope this teaches people to do something with their lives" after the first layoffs happened.

I've worked for major companies and found a home at a small company with good pay a values.

I still talk to the owner this day and was laid off.

This has hit entrepreneurs differently then people care to realize.
