OFFICIAL 2020 STIMULUS CHECK THREAD

What about the real estate prices and high rent in California? What about the high state sales tax???????

I thought Cali had it like that????? They charging $6000 a month to rent a 2x2 apartment... but they have no money for unemployment????????????

Huh?!?!?!???
“52k salary ain’t enough to live in California”... but somehow the state broke??? Ok

California started the year with a $21 billion surplus, the largest surplus in the states history.

COVID wiped that out in less than 2 months. We're currently on track for a $54 billion deficit by end of year.

you mean to tell me Harvard Universities 40 billion dollar endowment is more than Californias surplus? Wow.... :lol :lol

more reason not to pay those high rents and mortgages.

better start stomping out more grape mush, barefooted

I don't think you understand what you're laughing about. Harvard's endowment is irrelevant.

California was in good financial health relative to other states to start the year.

The surplus as a percentage over expenditures was about equal with Florida.

I don't really see what's funny about state governments being put under financial strain due to COVID.

No sympathy for state governments and dwindling financial resources. IDC. Do better

OK, but the vast majority of states are in the same financial position as California. It's nonsensical to single out California for experiencing a budget shortfall during a global pandemic. Thinking it's funny is just 🤡 behavior.

you going to bat for a Government entity, which has billons, who doesn’t GAF about you... who really the clown????

people who defend billion dollar industries and whatnot always make me chuckle. I’m a clown, but you’re defending a state that taxes the hell out of you and could care less whether you sustain or die. Stockholm Syndrome at it’s core.

Damn right it’s funny. I love to see greedy people get their days of reckoning. I love it :lol :lol

My dude, how are you this ignorant and simple minded. :rollin

You can't even have an intelligent conversation on this topic because you literally don't understand how state government works, and you're still butt hurt from last week because YOU decided to interpret a harmless discussion about high COL parts of the country as a personal indictment on your finances. Just stupid.

I'm not defending the state of California, I'm explaining to you why there is no longer a budget surplus.

Why are you so dumb? :lol

That kinda sucks. I remember when Cali was real messed up. They finally get it together and the pandemic wipes out all their hard work :lol

You should have included one just more extra smiley

It would have made this nonsense seem less like gibberish, and just made it a delusional rant

This is not about caring for the government. When state government have shortfalls, they cut public services before they raise taxes to make up the deficit. That means public transportation, homeless shelters, social workers, food security programs, health clinics. Austerity hurts the people first, disportionately poorer people, and in turn disproportionately minorities. So want state to be helped has mainly to do with avoid austerity being put in place because it will hurt vulnerable people. Those are the folk I care about. Not one was defending state government, that was just the strawman you grabbed onto.

But you want to act like a fool wildin thinking he doing it, talk on **** he clearly doesn't understand, all to seem like you are the only one in the room that gets it. So yeah, I see nothing but a clown talking out his ***.

Oh I forgot....
